On tap at LAX May 2009: Pours a hazy golden brass with a well-lacing frothy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet malted wheat and banana esters with a touch of Bavarian hops. Starts with good fullness and finely dissolved carbonation along with light wheaty sweetness, some clove spice and bready yeastiness before a slightly more bitter crisp finish. A pretty good hefeweizen.

ben4321 (6680) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 12, 2010
Location: On tap at the The Fish Market in San Diego, 1/5/10

Aroma: Banana, clove, wheat, orange
Appearance: Hazy yellow color
Flavor: German wheat flavor, with banana and spice
Palate: Light-medium, crisp, refreshing
Overall Impression: My first (of 4 from last week) Karl Strauss rating. It was a solid beer, nice outdoor refresher, and that works well in a locale where you can pretty much always sit outside and drink. Fairly typical German style hefe, nice flavors, but nothing super exciting.
