Aroma is wheat, lemons and mildly musty. The flavor is lemons, light bubblegum/bananas, wheat and a mildly biting tart finish. maddmatt639 (331) - Pacifica, California, USA - MAY 31, 2013
Little to no retention. Strong notes of bananas and cloves in the aroma and taste.

Appearance was cloudy gold with diminishing creamy white fizzy 1 finger head, no lacing. Aromas are banana, clove, bubblegum, soft grain, and cream. Taste are soft clove, wheat, banana, bubblegum with hints of pear and lemon. Palate was soft fizzy CO2 with light body, then fruity traditional smooth finish. A good American Hefe, summer delight. bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 1, 2016
Rating #1509 - 16.03.2015 - On tap @Moray’s Lounge (Catamaran Hotel) .Pours a hazy, golden orange colour with a frothy, white head that fades fairly quickly to a foamy ring. Aroma is yeast, banana bread, and a floral whiff. Taste is very much a bready, banana flavour with a spicy/herbal note lingering into a smooth finish. Medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is clean and superb. Excellent. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2016
Cloudy yellow, small white head. Nose is heavy clove and lesser banana, fairly heavy yeastiness and some wheat. Flavor is fairly solid, over ripe banana, light clove, moderate yeast. Medium bodied, nice yeasty texture, soft fizzy carbonation. Decent Hefe.

Draught at Karl Strauss La Jolla: Hazy orange tinged yellow. Nose of light soapy wheat and light yeast esters. The flavor has a nice body with creamy marshmallow blended with the esters. Finishes light and nice, good. Why is it that these brewpub hefes are a large amoutn better than their other attempts at some styles? Saarlander (1686) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - APR 24, 2006
A very nice suprise, tasted on draft at Strauss Universal city. Much more flavor than I was expecting, nice fruitiness, creamy, nice on the tongue, Good example of an American brewer doing a German style hefe. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAY 5, 2006
Draught at Karl Strauss La Jolla. Hazy yellow color with bubbly white head that laced the glass. Nice estery aroma and flavor typical of the style. Nose was a bit medicinal, but overall this was a good beer. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 26, 2006

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2008 A relatively authentic Bavarian style wheat beer. Nice clove, banana, and bubblegum notes. Smooth. Not overly carbonated or heavy. A nice drinkable beer.
