Draught at Karl Strauss La Jolla: Hazy orange tinged yellow. Nose of light soapy wheat and light yeast esters. The flavor has a nice body with creamy marshmallow blended with the esters. Finishes light and nice, good. Why is it that these brewpub hefes are a large amoutn better than their other attempts at some styles? Saarlander (1686) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - APR 24, 2006
A very nice suprise, tasted on draft at Strauss Universal city. Much more flavor than I was expecting, nice fruitiness, creamy, nice on the tongue, Good example of an American brewer doing a German style hefe. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 22, 2008

Draft. Chunky yeast & wheat nose with a touch of clove. Cloudy yellow/orange beer, frothy suds. Simply, clean wheaty yeasty hefe flavors..some clove. Decent and to style, a style I’ve been enjoying more than usual lately. ARH (1135) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 21, 2014
On tap served into a weizen glass. Initially, I thought I picked up notes of blueberry, peach, and even some yeast on the nose, but after awhile, the standard banana and clove dominant, with a hint of lemon. It pours a hazy pale with a thick, creamy white head that retains well and leaves lots of micro bubble lace. the beer is a blend of medium-light sweetness and a very light bitterness along with a trace amount of sour citrus. The beer is light bodied with a thin, watery texture. It kinda has the feel of a watered down lemonade. It’s very crisp, and clean with a low amount of soft carbonation - very refreshing summer session type beer. In the mouth, it’s mostly a banana and caramel taste that finishes with a faint orange rind and leaves a mild bubblegum aftertaste which doesn’t last long.

On tap @ the brewery, downtown San Diego location. Translucent yellow with a thick meringue of a head. Light banana and clove, lemony undertones, a bit of vanilla cookie, creamy wheaty mouthfeel. Nice. joshpiledean (316) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 9, 2005
On tap @ Islands. Cloudy, nice yellow color.
Served with a lemon slice, wheat was dominated by citrus, but nontheless it was very easy and a great session beer. Nice rich feel, I was suprised at how easy this went down, and down and down... patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 24, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2006 Tap - This is a nice pleasant hefeweizen. It’s very drinkable, mild citrus flavor. Sweet and smooth while not really being fantastic in any way.
