Decided to change horses after strong ale fest at PP. Great idea, this hefe is a perfect representation of a Bavarian. Excellent clove banana, balance in nose and flavor, perfect after destroying the t-buds at the fest. When back in town will get again, to bad hefes suck in bottle. Open a Strauss in L.V.
(Tap) cloudy pale yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of lilies, sourness; balanced flavour with a long, very light sweet and sour finish 55x11 (84) - - JAN 14, 2017
On tap at karl Strauss Santa Fe brewery. Aroma of banana, wheat malt and bubblegum. Some subtle yeasty aroma as well. Appearance is cloudy opaque bright golden yellow with white quickly disappearing head. Little lacing. Flavor of banana and wheat malt. Banana is well balanced and restrained. Slight bite in the aftertaste from yeast or perhaps hops? Finish is a bit disappointing in otherwise tasty beer. Mouthfeel is light body, a bit watery. Overall - very drinkable summer beer but doesnt strike me as exceptional

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is wheat and floral. Medium body, citrus, wheat, clove, dry finish, good. jbruner (4791) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - DEC 26, 2016
Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with thin bubbly white head that leaves light lace. Aroma and taste of dead on German wheat, big banana and spicy esters. Can see why it won. MetalNHopHead (2014) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - DEC 12, 2016
This Hefeweizen by Karl Strauss seems to fall right between the American and German wheat beer approaches. Naturally, there’s a slightly cloudy yellow appearance. Bavarian-type aromas with banana, clove, and hay. Flavor starts off with those same notes, then there’s a more American-style grain sweetness that takes over (rather than a dry, yeasty finish characteristic of a German wheat ale). There’s a subtle vanilla sweetness, which is nice. Right at the end, there’s an overly sweet canned corn note, which is not so nice. Apart from that unfortunate ending, Windansea is a well-executed wheat beer with a lovely, creamy depth to its body and a great range of flavor.

On tap at Disneyland. Pours out a hazy wheat color topped with a white head. Nose is light banana esters bubble gum spice. Taste is more of the nice nice malty spice banana. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2016
Cloudy yellow, small white head. Nose is heavy clove and lesser banana, fairly heavy yeastiness and some wheat. Flavor is fairly solid, over ripe banana, light clove, moderate yeast. Medium bodied, nice yeasty texture, soft fizzy carbonation. Decent Hefe. Karol (921) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - SEP 26, 2016

Tap at Bud. Very estery nose with lots of cloves, wheat biscuits. Very sweet and cloying with huge cloves again in the flavor. Rather light, touch of citrus and vanilla. Not so good.
