A decent offering, well worth the money and i’d possibly get it again. Just didn’t knock my socks off. pretty impressed though, a good wheatwine, actually, one of the best wheatwines i’ve had. hitns of pear and green raisin, caramel, etc. User29624 (1683) - - FEB 15, 2010
On tap in San Diego. Pours cloudy brown with a thin tan head. Caramel and citrus in the flavor and aroma. A little sweet and you could tell it was 8.5% ABV, had a little kick to it. trokini (1025) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 20, 2009
Tap @ Hamilton’s. Poured murky auburn with a thick, rocky off-white head. Hearty wheat and malt aroma, slightly acrid, with apricot and citrus. Taste was very nice; tangy-sweet beer with the tartness taking the upper hand. Malty body which seemed to battle the wheat flavors, but struck a strange balance. Sweeter lemon and citrus flavors in the finish, along with a sticky simple-syrup sweetness. Got to say, it has its rough edges at times, but this was pretty good. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - FEB 10, 2009
On tap at Hamiltons. Color was a dark, reddish, muddy brown with a tan head. Not the best lighting to get the color but I think that will suffice. Aroma of chewy caramel, sweet fruit and flowers. Flavor of sweet caramel, fruit, wheat with some interesting, and somewhat unfamiliar, notes. Strange, but good. Solid beer. ajm (1072) - Los Angeles, California, USA - FEB 9, 2009
Tap at Hamilton’s. Came out of the cask, but I think was still propelled. I don’t get why this is rated so low, as it is a very competent beer. Hot nose of sour apricot, peach, and tart caramel malt. Body is dark and full like an apple butter. Quite a sour beer, though not as sour as Hvedegoop. Malt does its work pretty perfectly.

Draft @ Hamilton’s. Pours a clear golden color with basically 0 head. Nose was sweet with candied apricots and peaches. Very light hop bitterness and caramel malts as well. Flavor was sweet with the finish being very viscous. Pretty good, underrated in my opinion. DSG (14922) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 18, 2009
(11/2/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in downtown San Diego. 8.5%. Clear deep golden color. Aroma of malt, light citrusy hop hints, caramel and some fruitiness. Sweet flavor with some malt, fruitiness, citrus and a bitter hoppy finish with alcohol hints. Medium-bodied. Decent. hopdog (12673) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 12, 2008
On tap at the Costa Mesa, CA location. Poured a deeper and slightly hazy orange color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of wheat, toasted grains, and lightly floral. Tastes of caramel with lighter wheat and a lighter toastiness. Mediun alcohol finish and on the sweet side. Lacing left on the glass. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - MAR 8, 2008
from Liars’ Club. Hazy caramel brown with creamy white head. Alcohol and caramel aroma. Thick syrupy palate. Zesty, tangy, citrus taste w/ a spicy finish. bikesandbeers (547) - san diego, California, USA - FEB 20, 2008
on tap @ Liar’s Club Alpine. amber with strong malt+alchol aroma. Flavor was very sweet and malty and the beer tasted quite strong. if I din’t know the ABV i would have guess 9-10. I’m not sure if thats a complement or a complaint.
