Taster at Sorrento Mesa location: Golden amber color with a small white head. Grassy grainy aroma. Flavor is grainy and seltzer like with light dry spicy hop finish. Light -medium body has moderate carbonation. WisconsinBeer (716) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - NOV 14, 2010
Bottle. Pale yellow color with straw head. Flavor is pale malts, straw, light grains, a bit of sugary sweetness. Just a whiff of hops at the back end to finish it off. Pretty nondescript, not much different than most pale lagers. doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 8, 2010
Pours clear straw yellow with a medium sized, fizzy white head that leaves specks of lace. Smells grainy and cereal malty, sweet. Tastes the same. Cereal malty, lightly sweet, hint of honey. Grainy, maybe a touch of green hops. Light/medium body, good carbonation. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 3, 2010
On tap at the Universal location. Pours with a clear golden body and a white head. Aroma of crackers, biscuit, salty, grainy and a light acidic note. Flavor is salty, bready, raw barley, with zero sweetness. Dry with lively carbonation. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 25, 2010
This was a nice pilsner beer with good hopping and a nice flavor. Good initial offering for me from Karl.

This is a $8 rating, because the only reason I tried this is because it was at a concert. Clear gold, white head. Grainy malt, light sweet and lightly hoppy. Middle of the road beer, nothing special. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 1, 2010
Tap at La Jolla. Copperish pour. White head. Some earthy hops lead off followed by typical honey/caramel malt aromas. Flavor hits with more hops than malt, but not by a lot. Not all bad. KimJohansen (10511) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2010
Clear golden with a medium white head. Malty aroma with hints of saaz hops, caramel and diacetyl. Fairly hoppy flavour with plenty of saaz, diacetyl, straw and butter. Finished dry and bitter. Not a bad take on the style. tokyogoat (1503) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 17, 2010
Not a great beer at all, not terrible, I wouldnt buy it again. I was expecting substantially more. grainy, slightly soapy, beers like this are why people think KS cant brew world class beers. rotoguru (126) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 9, 2010
SD trip, Karl Strauss LaJolla, sampler, had these while having a larger DIPA, flavors and ratings may be rough: I usually hate pils and find it to be a waste of time, however this one had mild bready/yeast flavor and wasn’t all bad. Still a pils tho...
