Drank with Bram and Liedewij at Ambar Bistro in Munich 21-2-2017. Very strong coffee in the beginning especially. A little bit much carbonation. Lots of taste, strong, but fades quickly - the beer is a bit thin. erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - APR 6, 2016
AsBlack body, large head. Lots of coffee and mocha aromas. Roasted too, very well balanced and nothing extreme. Bit lighter body perhaps than I expected at 8+%, but the taste is very nice indeed. Yeast is a bit cheesy. Soft and nice carbonation. Good brew. Light body though. (Fancy 33cl bottle at La Tana Bruxelles) Buongiorgio00 (934) - - MAR 19, 2015
Ottima imperial coffee stout veramente ma veramente caffettosa, dall’aroma intenso e ben bilanciata tra presenza alcolica, tostatura e finale leggermente amaro. TheJestersBeer (2430) - SWEDEN - SEP 9, 2013
Pours a compact dark brown, with a brown head.
Roasted, spicy aroma, coffee beans, chocolate, caramel, earth.
Off-dry, medium to full bodied, mid bitterness, lively CO2.
Roasted, spicy taste, coffee beans, espresso, chocolate, earth.
Decent. (2013-09-06) Theydon_Bois (19545) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2012
Bottle at home (Domus Birrae) - 07/10/12.
Opaque murky brown with no head - does not look appealling!
Sweet espresso coffee dominates the nose with a little background milk chocolate and malt.
Taste follows nose a little nuttiness and again a sweet espresso flavour.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation a little booze in the finish but a little on the thin side for 8%+.
Drinkable but a bit disappointing overall.

bottle, maybe old. I had this beer several times. Just once or twice i got a strong and really pleasant stunning original "espresso" flavor. Usually you don’t get this actual flavor in the most of the pretending "espresso" and "coffee " beers. Anyway: see-through black with brown reflections color. white solid head, a little bit quick to disappear. weak coffee aroma, something very distant from a good espresso. light taste of coffee with some yeast reminiscence. The mouth-feel is watery and really disappointing. I didn’t get the 8.5° stoutness at all. except for the random espresso flavor, this beer needs a receipt reboot. A deep dark stout with a thick brown head. In aroma, lightly tingly chocolate, grassy notes, a bit of soy and dark plums. In mouth, a smooth licorice chocolate, very sweet, with molasses, light woody notes, sweet espresso, not bad, but not grand. Bieropholie import, BB August 2011. Bottle shared. Pours a hazy bruin body with a tan head. Lightly smokey body with hint of char and smoke. Bitter and roast y with a mild chocolate sweetness and a medium warmth. Average IS. Boutip (6380) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 25, 2011
Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light aromatic coffee and some light roasted malt. Taste is also a mix of light roasted malt with nice notes of aromatic coffee. Body is too thin for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Lacking complexity and body to complete with the great from this style. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 9, 2011
Mondiale 2010. Pours a dirty muddy brown with a thin head. Aroma is minty earth, leather spearmint, light char, chocolate and vegetal-cucumber? Flavor is more mint, pine, dark chocolate, earthy toast, chocolate, pepper, slight paper oxidation, cherry pit then gets incredibly dry and minerally with wet stale paper and a touch of acidity in the end. This didn’t really work.
