Bottle thanks to my friend Jamie: Poured a murky orange brown with a light head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Taste is a mix of caramel/roasted malts, light smoke, hops and very drinkable. The alcohol is well hidden and makes it feel light for a Scotch Ale. thorongil2 (3076) - , Ontario, CANADA - NOV 30, 2011

weekly shared by SHIG-pours an offwhite head with amber color. Aroma is peat/caramel-sweet medium malt, some spice hops. Taste is peat/caramel-sweet medium malt, some spice hops, some medium fruit. Medium body, which is light for a wee heavy. Enjoyable.
22 oz bottle. Clear amber with a small off white head. Aroma of caramel, bread dough and light smoke. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, more bread dough and a slight acidic smoke. Medium body with average to mild carbonation and an oily, coating mouth feel. This is a nice Scotch ale, alcohol is fairly well hidden and it’s got good drinkability. Bottle shared by someone at freetail release. Pours a clear deep amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of bread and grain, slightly sweet with hint of toast. Flavor starts full of bread with sweet grains and toffee, mellows in the finish. Minimal carbonation. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - MAR 2, 2011

22-Jan-08 (Draft: Kassik’s Kenai Brew Stop in Nikiski, AK) Moderately hazy, amber-brown body is capped by a half inch of pale-tan head that settles to a wide ring, leaving plenty of patchy and stringy lacing on the glass. Medium sweet-smelling and caramely nose is only lightly aromatic, but these tiny taster glasses aren’t exactly ideal for appreciating the bouquet. Very fruity and caramely on the palate with medium sweetness, but a gentle hop flavor and light bitterness for nice balance. Medium "plus" body thins a bit in the finish and could use a bit more weight in general. Overall, for what "strong scotch" ale implies to me, the beer isn’t quite as rich or full-bodied as I expected, but it’s still a very enjoyable beer. (Note: this won a bronze medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup for the Strong Scotch Ale category, so that shows you what I know! A warm, heart-felt congrats to you, Frank and Debara!) finnful (2) - Nikiski, Alaska, USA - MAY 10, 2008 does not count
This beer kicks you in the shorts. Not my favorite type of beer but very flavorful and easy to drink. A little rich for me to drink on a regular basis. It is a fun beer to add to a sauna for a nice buzz.
