Trade with SHIG. Interesting beer in a 22oz bottle. Tan-black. A-chocolate-dk malt, earthy, some chalky. T-chocolate-dk malt (with a following astringency as it warms), chalky, hint of cherry. Down to a 2.8 warm. Water chemistry? fcjack1 (276) - Washington, USA - NOV 26, 2014
Bottle from Tacoma boys. Pours black. Tan head. Scent is dark chocolate. Taste is roasty. Some chocolate. Finishes with a little cherry. Not bad. furthur (1229) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - NOV 13, 2014
Bottle, opaque black, graham cracker colored head, decent lacing. Aroma is cherries, coffee, roasted barley, molases, raisin. Body is so rich! Not thick, but very smooth mouthfeel! Taste is roasty barley, coffee, cherry, milk chocolate, bitter, slight citrus rind finish. This has some sweetness, but really well balanced, and roasty and bitter too. Carbonation is a bit bright, for a stout, could be mellowed, but it’s a minor flaw. slowrunner77 (12801) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 11, 2014
"Being both an imperial chocolate, and a cherry stout, I had high hopes for this - but it just didn’t measure up. Each attribute was lacking...thin in body for a stout bordering on imperial. The chocolate was WAY underdone, made worse when we had the decadent Siren Noir soon after. The cherry is done ok, lightly tart and sweet, but it’s only atop a light roast in the flavor...woulda been better with a ton of chocolate to play off of. Stone set the bar for this style, and this falls way short of that brew."

Dark brown pour, fluffy light brown head. Overly roasty, overly dry, a bit harsh, artificial flavors, very thin. I didn’t enjoy this one much at all. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - MAR 26, 2014
Bottle. Pours a near black color with a moderate light brown head on it. Nose is mostly cherry forward with a little chocolate in there and just a hint of roasting. I don’t find it too flavorful, with just a bit of chocolate and cherry in there underneath the roasting. jgb9348 (6474) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Deep dark brown coloured body with a thick two centimetre tall lighter brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate, cherries, strawberries and a bit of icing sugar. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavours with a lot of chocolate bitterness and a good rich cherry flavour that pokes through some of the bitterness. Aftertaste shows a good complexity with a little nuttiness, some oats and quite a bit of earthy malt, coupled with a lot of milky and soft chocolate flavours. Overall, a nice robust beer with a ton of nice flavour and a soft finish, despite the bitterness up front. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Brown Jug in Anchorage (Old Seward Location) on 26-May-2013 for US$7.99 sampled at home in New Paltz, New York on 29-November-2013. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Bottle:   Deep brown, moderate tannish head, frothy, nice lacing.   Chocolate nose, dark or bakers like, subtle cherry, some alcohol and a tad of roasted malts.   Cherry starts to stand out as it warms.   On the
tongue its somewhat mild, a little chocolate, cherry, alcohol, but also a little medicinal or metallic notes.   As Tom said, aluminum is noticeable.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Bakers chocolate, dusty chocolate
covered cherries, faint ash/campfire, and a little bit of metal on the finish.   Not half bad, not big, while a bit alcoholic it doesn’t feel like 8.5%, but the metallic notes detract.   Could stand to be richer, as body and
mouthfeel are moderate.   Slight dark pitted fruit linger.   Some flaws, but entertaining at least. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - APR 12, 2013
22, Pours black with a gigantic tan head, explosive, rushing over the lip of the glass. Lots of webby, sedimentary lace. Rich chocolatey nose showing some vanilla and no shortage of aluminum. Creamy, slightly slick medium body with soft carb. Chocolate and tons of aluminum on the mid palate. Cherries definitely got way out ahead of them on this one, pity. Sweetish finish.
