Black with a tan head. Full bodied. Chocolate, light earth, vanilla, some molasses, and some background roasted malt. A fairly straightforward and tasty Porter. Iphonephan (6953) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - JUN 4, 2016
On draft at the Wildflower Cafe in Talkeetna. Pours black with a tan head. Light toasted nose. Flavors of leather and coffee. Crisp roast finish. Pleasant furthur (1169) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - MAY 31, 2015
Bottle, nearly opaque beer, decent tan head fades, ok lace. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, faint metal, smoke. Taste is chocolate, coffee, cola. Palate a little light, carbonation a bit heavy. Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 20, 2014
Dark brown, thin head, almost smokiness in the dark malt character. Good body, slight sweetness in the balanced finish.

Reviewed from notes. Into a mug.
The appearance has a black colored body with a slim half finger white foamy head, slight foamy lacing seems to speckle just a bit.
The smell came across kinda smokey and a slight dark chocolate comes through in a weird sort of way, not exactly sure how to take this.
The taste came through a sort of a smokey and sweet through the most part, slight smokey/meaty aftertaste, super dry finish.
This one sits about a medium on the palate, though it gives off a somewhat sessionable quality to it. Carbonation is fairly subdued, but good for the style.
Overall, this is not a normal porter I’m used to, a little bit smokier than I thought it would be but still a good one. Pretty sure I’d have this one again.

pours a dark brown with a red tint, above average carbonation, a small fizzy ten head that dissipates, and no lacing.
smell is of cocoa, coffee, and a touch of vanilla.
taste is fizzy, milk chocolate, coffee, and some malt. ends smooth. an easy drink. reebtogi (6246) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 14, 2012
650ml bomber pours almost black in color with a small light beige head that leaves a few spots of lace on the glass. Aroma is light roasted grains and chocolate with hints of dark fruits. Taste is a light roasty bitterness with some chocolate malty sweetness and fruit with a dry finish. A little thin in body for the style and softly carbonated. An easy drinking porter which would be a good entry beer for a beginner to step into this style. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 9, 2012
Bottle:   Nearly black, thin foamy dark beige head, a few rings of lacing.   Soft buttery roasted malt nose, slight cocoa and even softer hops.   A touch tart on the tongue, pale roastiness, soft cocoa and chocolate.   Little to no hop presense found here.   Not a watery Porter, but very light.   Its smooth, but lacks any depth.   Very much middle of the road.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Clean finish, but its very lackluster.   Not a hoppy example, or big in the roasted malt department either.   Yeah... very drab and unexciting. fletchfighters (1520) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2012
Nice little BA trade
Bomber into a tulip
Pours a dark, murky cola color and settles black. Nice, thick light brown head. Good body to the head. Falls off quickly though and leaves a layer of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Nose is of slight smoke, or oak, chocolate, coffee, and roast.
More roast in the taste with some coffee acidity and a bit of sourness. Slightly thin and watery but coffee and sourness hide it well.
Dry, clean finish. More acid and sourness in the front and mid palate.
Nothing exciting but it is a nice beer. Would gladly drink it again fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - SEP 16, 2012
Bottle, thanks SHIG! Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is roast, cocoa and light smoke. Flavor is light and semi-tart like a traditional porter. Big roast, cocoa nibs, tart cherry in the finish. Nice and highly drinkable.
