Pours copper with an outstanding off white head (really one of the better heads I’ve seen in years). A moderately malty, moderately to lightly hop early American IPA. Notes: on tap at Pangea during our May ’17 Anchorage visit.

On tap. Amber with a bubbly off white head. Resinous PacNW hop aroma with a toasty cereal base. Perfect balance of bitter and sweet all the way through. Medium body with average carbonation and a long finish. Extremely flavorful brew that would make any hop lover happy.

Bottle. Thanks Jason! Classic amber visuals, well carbonated and lightly headed. The aroma is all-American, too ... caramel, and (forgive me) wet Labrador Retriever (I love it). Drinking this beer during the momentous Tim Tebow OT win in the playoffs ... YGBSM!! (PS, good beer). (#4440, 1/8/2012)

Draft at F Street. Hazy amber color, thin tan head. Aroma of pine and grass. Taste starts malty, but it has good balance and bitterness. Decent.

On tap at Humpy’s. Glad to correct the previous rating, which doesn’t do this beer justice. Typical very good PNW IPA. Has all of the hop characteristics of PNW IPAs. I didn’t get much citrus, which got it rated down, I got all spruce. Very dry finish. Not watery. 2nd best of the night. I enjoyed.

22-Jan-08 (Draft: Kassik’s Kenai Brew Stop in Nikiski, AK) The bright hop aromas and lightly sweet background malts really introduce the beer well. On the palate, the malty base is lightly sweet with just a hint of caramel. Earthy, gently piney hops provide medium bitterness, especially in the long-lasting finish. The beer is medium in weight with a good crisp, clean mouthfeel and finish for excellent drinkability. The hazy, amber body is capped by a small, off-white head that settles to a thin ring. Overall, a really well-balanced IPA with an excellent flavor profile. Very nice without being showy.
