3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smells like chocolate milk. Pours dark black with a tan head. Smooth stout flavor with a bitter chocolate finish.
Bottle, black beer, almond head, good lace. Aroma chocolate, dark malts, molasses, toast. Taste is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cookies. Palate is good on this, carbonation subdued. This is better than I thought it would be. Nice balance, good sweetness, and dry finish. This is nice. BillKismet (4060) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 22, 2015
This one was described as an oatmeal stout. Black body, mocha cream head. Lovely aromas of oatmeal, roasted barley, and coffee intermingling above the glass. Smooth roasty body with healthy coffee notes, and a creamy mouthfeel. A touch of black patent on the finish. Ernest (7695) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 14, 2015
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2015 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, unsweetened chocolate, husks), with a hint of vanilla. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Simple with kinda rough malt, and a bit too tart for my tastes too. Ok but fairly clunky. djd07 (14508) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2015
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is dark chocolate and roast. Medium mouth, very sweet, chocolate malt, roast, lingering dry finish, good. thorongil2 (3074) - , Ontario, CANADA - MAR 19, 2015
(bottle) clear dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of roast, chocolate, stewed fruit; light, balanced flavour with a long light bitter finish

Medium brown, thick head. Not much nose but a rich, nourishing malty stout with mellow hop bitterness and balanced roast/chocolate taste. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - SEP 4, 2014
Bottle. Definitely smells and tastes a bit sweet with what seems like a bit of lactose. Definitely roasty, but not too much of the roasting character. Ok, but nothing great. rondphoto (4448) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAY 10, 2014
Thanks, Terry Stovall, for bringing this from Anchorage, AK --- Opaque Black color, big 2" tan head that lasts and lasts, bands and swirls of lace. Taste is clean roasted malt that grows earthy and adds some dark chocolate in the palate before allowing a bit of hops to enter late in the finish. A spectacular stout, not overly sweet, no oily residue, satisfying to drink. High recommendations. johnnnniee (4312) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 10, 2014
Bottle received in trade from BeerKangaroo, thanks for the opportunity and a great trade!
Pours a solid dark brown/ black color with a huge khaki head that persists forever leaving a moderate amount of lace on the sides. Aromas of chocolate and roast with a decent amount of burnt caramel and earthy hop in there. A touch of oxidation in there, but that could be from the damaged cap upon shipping, and it really doesn’t detract much anyhow. The flavor is rich roasty and chocolate up front. Bits of caramel and dark dried fruits and a touch of earthen crusted hops round out the flavor nicely. Medium to thick body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a silky creamy smooth mouthfeel. Pretty damn good oatmeal stout right there in my glass, so glad I got to try this.
