Belgian pale ale.
Kasteel Hoppy is a blond ale of high fermentation, with a bitterness of 45 EBU. Strictly selected, Belgian hops are essential for the hoppy, spicy aroma, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Gedronken in Oud Brabant, pils kleur en helemaal helder, pluspunten, ik had hem hoppig verwacht maar helaas. Nie vies maar ook nie lekker

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a rugged burnt pale yellow to orange color with a nice looking level foamy head that dissipated evenly leaving some foamy rings. The aroma balanced nicely between citrusy and floral hops eventually. But a big bold puckering sour citrus hit me first. Some Belgian sugars do sort the end of it out nicely. The flavor ends up yielding to the Belgian sweet citrus and floral hoppiness. Puckering sour effect still comes back, all blends into the aftertaste but the puckering sour seems to leave in the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. The "sour" seems to have glided out a lot more. Good carbonation with the hoppiness creating a nice bitterness about it. Overall, nice Belgian pale ale combining bitter hoppiness to the sour. I would have again.

Little to no aroma, orange color and fruity taste with a bitter after taste, and a strong heavy palate

Bottle, [email protected] Pours clear golden with a medium, staying, frothy to bubbly white head. Aroma has sweet malts, esters, citrus hops, light pear. Earthy notes. High carbonation, fairly dry and slightly oily mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, Belgian sugar, grass, moderate citrussy bitterness. Light esters and a slight metallic twang to the finish.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2016 Pilsener pour with frothy head and nice carbo. Aggressive pour. A: light hoppy, mostly melon, lime, lemon, malts, light urine as well. When yeast is poured, it becomes fruitier. T: thin malty flavour with typical Kasteel boozy yeasty development. Light fruity, mostly melon, lime, banana. Malty dry aftertaste.

0.33 l bottle from Alko Helsinki. Appearance is pale and clear with a head. Aroma has yeast and caramel. Taste has also some caramel, but this is also dry from the hops. Is a Belgian Pale Ale or just imitation of Duvel? Doesnt really matter.

Golden colour, with a big head that fades soon, keeping a layer and some lace. Aroma is fruity, some banana and citrus, and moderately hoppy. Medium body, great carbonation. Taste is fruity, banana, spicy notes. Not as bitter as aone would expect from "hoppy", more on the sweet side. Not exactly the best Kasteel.

Smell of grass, malt. Hazy golden colour, very high white head. Aroma of yeast, grass, paper, some overripe fruit in finish. Starts off as a papery lager, ends as a heavily yeasty belgian strong with grassy notes. Seriously imbalanced. Starts bitter, finishes sweet.

33cl bottle from Alko. Pours bit cloudy bright yellow with dense frothy white head. Typical Belgian nose. Crispy semi-dry, bit of tangy sourness in the end. Not so hoppy, but nice balance though.
