Belgian pale ale.
Kasteel Hoppy is a blond ale of high fermentation, with a bitterness of 45 EBU. Strictly selected, Belgian hops are essential for the hoppy, spicy aroma, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Gedronken in Oud Brabant, pils kleur en helemaal helder, pluspunten, ik had hem hoppig verwacht maar helaas. Nie vies maar ook nie lekker

[75cl corked bottle, 2015 vintage] Pours slightly cloudy bright yellow with a fizzy head that vanishes quickly. Aroma is slightly piney and citrusy on top of subtle notes of belgian yeast. Some herbs and spices. Taste is hop oil, artificial citrus, yeast. It’s clinical bitterness. Aggressive carbonation. Watery mouthfeel.

Flöska. ,Unclear nice golden colour with a big white head, good lacing indeed. Pleasant citrus hoppy sweet aroma with some maltiness to it. Flavour is fresh like with citrus hops and malt, sweet, dry like finish.

Kasteel is een gerenommeerd merk met lekkere bieren. Deze hoppy van 6,5% valt echter tegen. Flauw, nietszeggend bier. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Jasne, klarowne, piana biała, gęsta i dosyć obfita. Aromat owocowy, cytrusowy. W Smaku wyraźna goryczka na finiszu.

Backlog: Bottle at PaterMarcus. Pours golden colour, minimal white head disappears quickly. Aroma of hay, floral, grass, citrus. Taste is very bitter with medium carbonation. Alcohol feels a bit stronger than 6,5.

The beer looks nice. Not extremely special, but it looks like a Belgian ale should. The color of the beer is a nice rather dark golden yellow. The beer itself is quite clear, but a tiny haze exists. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft white foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses quickly, but a nice soft drape remains. The smell is nice. It has that familiar blend between regular Belgian ale and extra hops. I know it from Piraat Tripel Hop and Duvel Tripel Hop. It is not much different from that. It is nice though. There is a nice malty aroma, which enhances a rich hoppy bitterness and slight acidity. The hop aroma’s are a bit grassy and herbal. It is nice and refreshing. There is also a nice fresh Belgian yeast aroma. The taste of the beer is also good. There is a nice bitterness of the hops, together with a slight acidity. This is balanced by malty more sweet flavour. You can also taste the yeast and some alcohol. Not a bad flavour, but not special. There are more Belgians like this (like the ones I mentioned before). The palate is good. Medium body and carbonation, slightly dry feeling. The finish is not extremely long, but contains some nice almondy alcohol flavours. Nice one.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a rugged burnt pale yellow to orange color with a nice looking level foamy head that dissipated evenly leaving some foamy rings. The aroma balanced nicely between citrusy and floral hops eventually. But a big bold puckering sour citrus hit me first. Some Belgian sugars do sort the end of it out nicely. The flavor ends up yielding to the Belgian sweet citrus and floral hoppiness. Puckering sour effect still comes back, all blends into the aftertaste but the puckering sour seems to leave in the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. The "sour" seems to have glided out a lot more. Good carbonation with the hoppiness creating a nice bitterness about it. Overall, nice Belgian pale ale combining bitter hoppiness to the sour. I would have again.

Little to no aroma, orange color and fruity taste with a bitter after taste, and a strong heavy palate
