Belgian Ale Barista, BBE 03-2021. Musta, niukka mutta viipyvävaahtoinen, hapoton. Tuoksu vienon houkutteleva, makeahko, ei kovin vahva. Maku muistuttaa vanilja-absolut-vodkaa, vahva, vaniljaisan mausteisan polttava, olisi varmasti hyötynyt muutaman vuoden kypsymisestä, tuoreena hivenen raaka viinapommi. budedou (1016) - Saint Etienne, FRANCE - JUN 19, 2017
Not a good beer, very thin, very overwhelming artificial-feeling sweetness. Alcohol taste as well.
amodernraccon (3) - MOLDOVA - JUN 17, 2017 does not count
Aroma of coffee, cinnamon and dark bitter chocolate. Nice creamy foam. Strong bitter chocolate and coffee in taste. Very tasty chocolate finish oobawa (1647) - Tennessee, USA - JUN 14, 2017
Curious Quad, both full of tasty chocolate-covered dates and a big java backbone, yet maintaining enough Belgian yeastiness and dark fruit esters to keep the strong ale elements detectable. Sweet but not overly so, and the date-black cherry-fig backbone plays nicely with the more indulgent cocoa-mocha notes. Feel gives up none of the 11% ABV, and the nose is a decadent mix of chocolate and dried fruit. Tasty. GarrettB (1634) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 10, 2017
December 24th, 2014 - Kasteel’s Winter ale is marked by its humble label, free from Christmas goblins and Santa butts. It’s a classy selection from the Christmas aisle, and looks the part too, dressed in a deep dark liquid, with a thin, velvety head. Mocha and espresso are the richest veins in the nose, and they’re peppered with a big of nutmeg. The specter of a scotch ale rears its transparent, with some sweetness, but just a whiff. The flavor is tangy and creamy, like the foam from a freshly poured espresso, but boozy. Espresso beans and the bitterness of dark chocolate work in tandem - mostly - and while the balance is a little rough around the edges, the extra carousing lets the beer hold up against my meal for the night: a rich au jus sandwich. 0.33 bottle @ The Streets of Middelfart
Both the aroma and the taste are characterized by the same chocolate, toasted malts, delicate herbs, and vanilla. Full, thick, soft. Very long finish, can be felt even after a few minutes. Overall a very decent beer, too bad I had to drink it in a hurry.
Translucent mahogany with thin beige head. Full body with high carbonation.
Aroma: chocolate, sweet coffee, darkened sugar, belgian yeast funk, dark belgian ale phenols.
Taste: brlgian yeast esters and phenols, chocolate soda , coffee candy, some alcohol.
