Pours a dark brown much like a porter with a medium laced cream head. Big outstanding aromas of chocolate, toffee, caramel and vanilla. Undertones of dark cherry, wood, and just a tinge of alcohol. Flavors of dark cherry, coffee, light alcohol, wood, slightly nutty, with a aftertaste of tootsie roll! (?).I want to give this a 9 flavor but the alcohol takes some of the dominant flavors. Would likely be better with 1 or 2 % abv lower. Andrus86 (650) - Busselton, WA, AUSTRALIA - FEB 9, 2017
Kasteel barista choc quad
TAP. Cola black with small tan head.. Fresh coffee bean & milk choc aroma.. Very rich thick body, almost syrup! Perfect blend of the coffee & chocolate, a bit of vanilla as well?.. Sourced yardhouse Honolulu nephirem (540) - CROATIA - FEB 6, 2017
Sampled as Barista Chocolate Quad. Bottle, 0.33l. Deep ruby pour, almost black with one finger beige head. Poor retention, but thin layer stay on top throughout the whole drink. Cocoa and coffee dominate the nose with sight liquor in the background, really nice.
Medium body, softly carbonated. Somewhat light texture, not completely watery but still lacking thickness so to say. Liquory bittersweet taste with slight alcohol burn on the tongue. Aroma is malty, lots of chocolate and cocoa. Sugary, liquory. Toffee and caramel. Not much of a coffee notes, it’s more like a cappuccino, which is kinda interesting. Aftertaste is liquory, and so is the mouthfeel, presence of alcohol is quite strong in this one.
Overall, good one. A bit too boozy, but still ok. pressboxjoe (464) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 6, 2017
Draft. Dark almost black with disappearing head. Has the consistency of hot chocolate, the thickest beer I can ever remember having in terms of consistency. Some coffee, some caramel. A dessert wine to be sure. Did not hit me like an 11% beer, but maybe the pour was smaller than I realized. RuNpali (85) - FINLAND - FEB 3, 2017
Yumm!! Aroma: What a great balance between the coffee and the chocolate! Taste is not so impressive, yet very good. LOVE IT!
