On tap. Light brown. Sweet malty aroma. Not my favorite. Abrasive alcohol, sweet and slightly medicinal. These are one of the only kinds of belgian ales that I have a hard time getting into. Too brown sugar and alcohol forward for me. Oakes (17676) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 19, 2017
Dark brown. Doesn’t pour with much head. The aroma is plummy, raisiny, vinous...brown sugar and date molasses. Deep, fruity...so much dark fruit and sugar. Touch of alcohol in the finish, but smooth and well-balanced. CraftBeerNick (2558) - London Town, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2017
Tap at Indewildeman, 18th May 17. Pours dark brown, aroma is sweet, syrup, cherry. Taste is dark fruit, some cherry, liquor, barrel, wood. Nice gear. Carlisle (745) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 6, 2017
Draft. Pours dark brown-black color. Sweet, dark stone fruits and raisins. Chewy mouthfeel. Excellent.

Nothing much to say here. A belgian brune strong ale, a little on the sweet side, not getting an awful lot of cuvee here.

Aroma of dried, fruit, caramel malt, some slight hoppy bitterness.Taste of caramel, dark sugar, malt. Complex. Balanced. Jimbo2 (475) - DENMARK - APR 22, 2017
Dark brown. Low carbonation. Good mouthfeel. Lots of esters. Dried, fruit, caramel, some slight hoppy bitterness. Complex. Elegant. Balanced. Brilliant. CraftyHare (77) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - APR 9, 2017
330ml bottles pours very dark brown with modest light tan head. Aromas of caramel malt, dried fruit and spice. Dark, heavy and layered flavours of liquorice, brown sugar, pear, herbal and spice characters and alcohol. There is a reason for the black label. This is a strong, full-bodied Belgian beer with a medium bitter finish. stupre (344) - Nanterre, FRANCE - APR 2, 2017
33 cl bottle purchased @ La caisse de bière. Beaux arômes sur cette bière bien équilibrée. thepatrickman (1347) - Jevington, East Sussex, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2017
On draft at the Earth Eagle, Portsmouth, NH. This is one classy brew. It’s restrained and complex, with a lot of balanced stone fruit and raisin flavors on the tongue before finishing surprisingly clean and quickly. Reminded me a lot of some of the great Belgian Quads (Rochefort, St. B, and especially Westvleteren).
