UPDATED: DEC 18, 2014 Postprandial tap [email protected] A’pen, IV-2014, BE backlog. Amazing how this full-bodied porto cordial of a dessert beer never gets too sweet or sticky like most other Kasteel/Van Honsebrouck’s brews. Dark berries suspended in young porto maceration, intermittent brandy notes, velvet mouthfeel. Quite a mouth- and paunchfull in its massive jumbo wine glass serving, but still a memorable one-off treat. (tuesday, june 03, 2014) - // Revisited bottled, 2013 vintage, 12/2014. Well-rounded ruby port sweetness with a Mon Chérie chocolate berry character. Suave updated execution of a what could have been an old school Belgian sugar bomb.

TrefwoordPunk (1133) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 29, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2014 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark brown/opaque with a tiny and fading beige head and an aroma of sweet malts, toffee, raisins, cacao and herbs. The taste is pretty sweet and a tad alcoholic, with mostly heavy malts, but also candy sugar, overripe fruits and some bubblegum. Almost no bitterness in the finish, mainly sweet but not sticky.

De minder zoete uitvoering van de donker. Vol van smaak, zwaar, krachtig. Heerlijk bij het eten van vlees.

Szájpadlásszaggató, és szájöböllemaró alkohol mellett gyengéden megbújik az elegáns ízvilág.

Excalibur123 (476) - Soria, SPAIN - MAY 18, 2014

Dark colour with creamy thick head. >Smell is wood, molassess, sweet, but I expected more. Taste too, with some licorice maybe. Alcohol burn after a while. I expected definetely more complexity from such an aged beer. A bit disappointing for me.
