330ml bottle, poured into Leffe Chalice. Dark, bronze edge, almost opaque. Towards the end of the pour a small tanned head bursted out, but faded straight away, tiny amount of lacing was retained. Initially the yeast and cranberry aroma was faint but it got stronger as the beer warmed. Tasted brown sugar, cranberry, cherries, yeast and molasses. Delayed buscuitlike finish, generally the booze was well hidden apart from a slight burn. To start with it had a prickly edge from the carbonation, smooth with a surprisingly light body for the high abv. Overall liked how it hid the booze, but need to explore a few more stronger dark Belgian beers to really place this.
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2018 Very dark mahogny, with a thin beige head. Clear. Aroma heavy, with lots of raisins balanced with the yeastiness. Taste more dried fruit (dates, figs) and a lot of caramel. Sweet, a bit too sweet at the start but there is a lingering bitterness that adds on and takes over at the end. Very good! Quick3Beers (1515) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 30, 2017
Pours a rich brown from a bottle, thick off-white head dissipates leaving some lacing. Big sweet caramel malt aroma, followed by a sweet brown sugar, light vanilla flavor. Very sweet, as others have mentioned. Not sure cellaring would diminish the sweetness, but would likely introduce new flavor elements to make it more interesting. Good beer. Bottle (750ml). Nice looking dark brown pour with a tan head. Not too boozy but was too sweet for my tastes. Wish I had aged this one for awhile. panda_brewmaster (151) - Bournemouth, Dorset, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2018 Aromas od yeast, overripe banana and some alcohol. Taste is malty, caramelized sugar, overripe cherries. After is quite sweet overpowering the bitter. A bit too sweet for me. jsnicholas (709) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - DEC 14, 2017
Bottle (750ml). Dark brown with tan head. Light caramel aroma. Taste is sweet and chocolate. Finish with some warming. Medium, creamy carbonation. This is a great desert beer.

330 ml stubby brown bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours with very little head despite a vigorous pour, yet a durable partial coat and ring somehow appears and lingers on and on. Clear dark mahogany body.
Loads of dark dried fruit aromas. The flavor is sweet too sweet IMO -- but not so sweet as to impede consumption, largely because some subtle but countering bitter shows up in the finish and aftertaste. Hints of green apples with the dark dried fruits.

Ciemne przezroczyste piwo, piana średnia. Aromat winny lekko alkoholowy w tle owoce. Smak owocowy, rodzynki, śliwki, lekko słodki, dobrze skomponowany. Ciekawe przyjemne piwo biilz (280) - SPAIN - DEC 6, 2017
Not good. Much too sweet.
A strong Belgian brown ale. After extensive tasting, trying to fulfil increasingly strict requirements, the brewmaster obtains a creamy, dark Belgian brown ale: Kasteelbier.

Dark brown color, medium beige head. Aroma coffee, caramel, chocolate. Taste very sweet, dry fruits, hints of caramel, alcohol surprisingly well hidden. Good, but after I saw it and smell it, expected more.
