COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong Belgian brown ale.
After extensive tasting, trying to fulfil increasingly strict requirements, the brewmaster obtains a creamy, dark Belgian brown ale: Kasteelbier. The quality of the past is still unmatched and the beloved taste is very much of the present. Kasteelbier is a dark, artisanal beer, soft and mild, full and creamy. It can age for many, many years, as indicated on the bottle. 11% abv, serve at 12°C (54°F) (Translation by Martinus)

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2015 Dark Brown beer with white head and good lacing . Intense aroma with roasty, toffee, coffee and dark fruit notes. Also a kind of aroma of foam or soap. Sweet in mouth (too much). Médium bodied. Warm sensation because of the alcohol. Medium carbonation. Long and intense aftertaste. Good aromas but unbalanced in mouth Filip

It is delicious at firt. But at the and it is too sweet. It could be more dry.

I located a 750 ml bottle of this on a beer run in H-Town earlier this year. Saved until the right time, this must be it. The cork was a struggle but that’s all right. Into my New Belgium tulip glass it comes out a very dark body with just a hint of red around the edges. The foam is a persistent, finely-bubbled tan. An attractive nose, I detect banana, bubble gum and mango. Finally a sip, hmm, sweeter than I expected. But that is not necessarily a bad thing. Here is dark cherry, chocolate, some malty yeastiness, ripe plum. A great fullness. Lightly bitter with the alcohol hanging around in the background. Truly fine. Donker, I will be back.

Looks grand. Aroma: dark berries and sweet caramel. Taste is similar with Christmas spices, sultanas and something vanilla-like. Nice, creamy mouth-feel. It is not really my type of beer, but it is great nonetheless.

Dark amber color with medium brownish head. Raisins, dried fruit, caramel. Sweet creamy taste. Strong and full body. You can feel that strong alcohol content, but in strongness and warmth in aftertaste, rather than in taste itself.

very dark, almost roasted taste. The 11 percent is noticable in taste but adds a new dimension to the beer. It’s not stingy, it’s very mild and pours in quite quickly. I like a colder kasteelbeer than 12 degrees celcius. It has a mildbitteraftertaste.

22. 5. 2017, Ljubljana. Bottled. Dark brown and efervescent creamy body with full rock on on CO2. High carbonisation really kills the head quickly. Very sweet flavour, no bitterness to counter it out. Should have been more balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours with an attractive coffee colored head. Color is dark brown, coffee-like. Rich and sweet aroma has plums, raisins, some hot cocoa, cappuccino, espresso, yeast. Almost perfectly balanced palate. Rich and dessert like taste has cappuccino, espresso, coffee and chocolate ice cream, tiramisu, rum, slight notes of mint, vanilla. Very rich liquid dessert like beer and hugely enjoyable. This becomes a personal favorite in this genre. Just perfect.

Aroma , Abundant malt, very deep dark fruits, molasses. syrup . Appearance, Dark brown, mahogany Taste, Freaking amazing. Extreme malting, rum soaked deep dark fruits. Palate, Extremely smooth rich, silkiiness . Does not have a bitter aftertaste but leaves a blackberry aftertaste. Overall, If this is not a world class beer I have never had one.It has the total package, with drinkability through the roof. Its a stand alone sipper that gets better has it warms. One of the best beers I have ever had. . Having had all the tip Belgium beers including Westveterlan 12. I would say it holds its own with any of them. Cant wait too pick up a few if these to cellar.

See õlu ei ole mõeldud joomiseks. Magustoitu sa ju ei joo. Alkohol maitses tuntav ja seest teeb soojaks. Suurepärane õlu õigeks puhuks.
