COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong Belgian brown ale.
After extensive tasting, trying to fulfil increasingly strict requirements, the brewmaster obtains a creamy, dark Belgian brown ale: Kasteelbier. The quality of the past is still unmatched and the beloved taste is very much of the present. Kasteelbier is a dark, artisanal beer, soft and mild, full and creamy. It can age for many, many years, as indicated on the bottle. 11% abv, serve at 12°C (54°F) (Translation by Martinus)

eccessivamente dolce..seppur meno dolce della montagnarde e anche di più piacevole bevuta, questa birra risulta comunque di bevuta difficile, appunto per l’eccessiva dolcezza

Bottle (750ml). Dark brown with tan head. Light caramel aroma. Taste is sweet and chocolate. Finish with some warming. Medium, creamy carbonation. This is a great desert beer.

330 ml stubby brown bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours with very little head despite a vigorous pour, yet a durable partial coat and ring somehow appears and lingers on and on. Clear dark mahogany body.
Loads of dark dried fruit aromas. The flavor is sweet too sweet IMO -- but not so sweet as to impede consumption, largely because some subtle but countering bitter shows up in the finish and aftertaste. Hints of green apples with the dark dried fruits.

Ciemne przezroczyste piwo, piana średnia. Aromat winny lekko alkoholowy w tle owoce. Smak owocowy, rodzynki, śliwki, lekko słodki, dobrze skomponowany. Ciekawe przyjemne piwo

Dark brown color, medium beige head. Aroma coffee, caramel, chocolate. Taste very sweet, dry fruits, hints of caramel, alcohol surprisingly well hidden. Good, but after I saw it and smell it, expected more.

On tap @Mad for Beer (Rome). Bruna intensa, schiuma bianca media. Al naso sentori di frutta rossa (ciliegie), sherry, cioccolato, datteri, zucchero di canna. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con nota liquorosa e finale con leggera acidità da ciliegia. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Complessa, rotonda, appagante. Eccellente.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Danny. Pours clear ruby with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds ripe berries, hints of toffee, brown bread. Medium to big sweet flavour with a lot of cherry, toffee, fruitcake, minimal bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish, lots of ripe berries, toasted sugars. Fun, if a bit sweet.

Scopey (15910) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2017
Bottle thanks to Dan. It pours cloudy darkest brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, cola, dried fruits, sugary, candy, icing sugar, cherry cola, wet earth and dull spice. The taste is soft, toasty, sweet, oily, sugary, candy, cola, dried fruits, boozy, bit of spice, plain chocolate, icing sugar with a warming and sugary finish. Medium - full body, fine carbonation and slick mouth - feel. A bit too sweet and sugary. Fun anyhow.
