COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A tripel, as solid as a castle. A full bodied beer, brewed with Belgian hops, to enjoy quietly, with a powerful, distinctive flavour: flowery, hop bitterness and soft alcohol.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, corn, sugar, hops, yeast, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).

Bu au march de Nol de courtrai. Bouteille de 33cl. Couleur dore reflet cuivre. Belle mousse onctueuse et gnreuse . Au nez :levure , un peu fruite (orange). En bouche :cest puissance prsence dalcool vident. Note de zeste dorange. Levure et arrire got de malts. Triple plutt classique .

33cl-fles van bij Tabac&Co - Palais des bires te Dottenijs (in Famiflora). U: Helder goudblond met een witte schuimkraag. G: Gist, bleekmout, wat kruiden en alcohol. S: Zeer zoet met weinig bitterheid. Bleekmout, gist en kruiden. Alcohol is te dominant en stoort. M: Niet volmondig en medium carbonatie.

Great example of the sub-style, the abbey tripel. Yeasty and sharp-malted with a very pronounced alcohol burn and slightly hoppy finish, the difference between this and, say, an ISL is the layers of flavor that unravel as it warms up (11.2 oz bottle, Carrefour Exp)

Une triple un niveau de 11 % Abv de la brasserie Van Honsebrouck nous envoie du lourd. Cest en effet une bire de caractre o lalcool sexprime franchement qui nous est propose. Sa robe est dun beau dor fonc mais cependant avec une mousse quasi inexistante. Le nez est port sur les fruits confits, labricot sec sur un fond dalcool marquant. Lattaque est relativement douce et plutt discrte en se portant essentiellement sur les crales. Lamertume et lalcool arrive alors de faon directe et intense. Lampleur en bouche est soutenue avec des armes complmentaires de fruits confits, dabricots et de poires et une pointe de girofle. Le final, long, ne laissera en rien diminuer la puissance des armes qui perdurent longtemps en bouche. Ce final napporte nanmoins aucune variation qui aurait pu augmenter la complexit de la bire. Lensemble est bien dos, lalcool prsent est bien intgr, et le sucre ncessaire pour contrebalancer quelque peu nos 11 %, nest pas en sur-saturation. En conclusion, cette Kasteel est un triple forte qui sassume, et qui grce une bonne homognit sait rester agrable.

Flasche (Kasteel Tripel, 33 cl) von Jenny Lous, Peking. - Goldbraun, schwach trb. - In der Nase schwere Se von Konfitre und berreifer Banane, aufdringlicher Alkohol und ein wenig Lsungsmittel. - Im Antrunk breite Se von Aprikosenkonfitre und Sahnebonbons, die allmhlich in leicht holzige Herbe mit bitterer Orangenschale und leichter Schrfe bergeht. Gut rezent. Der Alkohol ist viel zu prominent. Herb-trockener Abgang mit Orangenschale und grnen pfeln, unangenehm medizinischer Nachtrunk (Aspirin). - Arg grob gestricktes Tripel: zuviel Alkohol, in ruppige Aromen gekleidet. Warum Michael Rudolf ausgerechnet das in seine 100 besten Biere der Welt aufgenommen hat?

Bottle. Hazy orange colour with huge head off. Aroma of tto fruity, plumbs. Taste is fruity,heavy cloying sweetness, caramel, alcohol taste.

Bottled March 17th, 2013. Light gold with plenty of foam. Long lasting with lacing. Caramel malt with maple syrup like aroma. Tiny bit of what I suspect is oxidation. Fruity, with hints of tartness, more massive than any sweet notes that I expected to find. Quite different than the smell but good in its own right. 11% abv seems to be on the timid side. Decent mouthfeel though I reckon some carbonation was lost in the 3 and a half years. $2. On clearance. Worthy.
