UPDATED: FEB 26, 2011 Bottle dated May ’02, enjoyed 4/9/05. Light golden pour. Very fizzy, with a bit of a sweet honey smell. Taste is a sweet white wine, a touch of vanilla and a suggestion of oak. Just a little bitterness and then tartness with a sugary finish. I found this at Foremost Liquors, being closed out at $2.99. Why? They surely know Belgians stay pretty good as they age. Maybe because the labels were different from year to year.
Another 2002 bottle, enjoyed 5/31/07. Just as nice as before. Just noting a bit of cork in the initial swig. I’ve had a previous bottle that went way too tart, but this is still nicely sweet, with a contrasting dry finish. Crazy world, huh? This had a different label that I hoped meant it was the Donkel, but it still says "Golden" on it.

Sweet, apples, belgian yeasts, fruity, a pinch of mildly unpleasant bitterness in aftertaste. OK but rather simp. Alco is present but still a surprisingly light ale overall

Bottle at Marianne’s place. A bright golden color, very good white head. Taste is fine, lighter than the abv is. Good tripel.

Clear dark golden beer with lively white head. Aroma is malty, floral, yeast. Taste is balanced with sour and bitter. Some alcohol notes. Medium carbonation. Nice long tasting beer for the evening.

I love this beer, a good tripel equilibrate. The only problem? The equilibrium with hop and alcohol sweetness make you thinkin that you are drinking a 6-7° alcohol beer. In half-an-hour your head will tell you that the vbeer is 11°

2015 vintage, 75cl corked bottle: Pours crystal clear golden orange colored body with a fizzy white head. Aroma is really vinious. Like a medium-dry white wine. Chardonnay. Some yeasty, ethanolic notes. Herbal. Champagne yeast? Taste is vinious as well. Like a white wine fruity bitter/sour taste. Slightly herbal. Grape peel, acidic. It has a warming yeasty alcoholic aftertaste. Semi aggressive carbonation. Fizzy mouthfeel.

Light golden with white head. Nice yeasty, fruity aroma. Initial taste very good balance between slight sour yeastines and malty sweetness. Then sweetness takes dominance and then some bitterness at the end. Very, very good!
