50cl swing-top bottle from the brewpub. Pours clear dark orange brown colour with a mid-sized/small off-white head. Aroma of mild roasted malt, caramel and nuts. Taste of mild roasted malt, floral hops, nuts and caramel, nice! Koelschtrinker (20395) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 18, 2011
12/10/9/10//9

Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown colour. Good stable creamy tan head. The flavour is slightly bready in the good way, resembles rye, but probably is not. OK mouthfeel, slightly creamy.

Tap @ Kathi Heckenhof. brown color, hazy. Roast and some caramel in the malty, bready flavor. Maybe a bit thin. Long roasty earthy hopbitter finish. Earthy hoparoma. A very rural but hugely drinkable dunkel. kevnic2008 (11996) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - JAN 17, 2016

Bottle (10dl) Amber coloured, bigger, quite persistent, almost creamy off-white head; moderate sweet dark-malty nose with a shy, but distinctive hoppy background and a touch of barnyard; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, soft MF, quite "full" bodied for a beer of 4.8%; sweet-malty and bitter finish. A well crafted and well rounded franconian brew............. MoritzF (9901) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - FEB 13, 2008
(100cl bottle, purchased at the brewery) Clear, dark brown colour with a solid beige foamy head. Sweet and quite rich toast-malty aroma with light notes of caramel, nettle-like spices, barnyard and whiffs of herbal hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, soft and pleasant carbonation. Dark malt-character, slightly toasted with notes of (milk) chocolate; quite dry, sweet and slightly bitter, lasting malty finish with a chocolatey toasty aftertaste. Very good dark Lager (13.02.08).
