Tap @ Kathi Heckenhof. brown color, hazy. Roast and some caramel in the malty, bready flavor. Maybe a bit thin. Long roasty earthy hopbitter finish. Earthy hoparoma. A very rural but hugely drinkable dunkel.

21/VII/13 - 50cl bottle from the brewery @ home - 6/IX/13 (2013-657) Thanks to Dominiek for the bottle!

Clear deep brown beer, irregular creamy light beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. aroma: coffee, some dark caramel, toast, bit of chocolate. Mf: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: grains, hay, toast, mocha, little bitter, hoppy, some caramel. Aftertaste: fudge, caramel, mocha, bit hoppy, chocolate, grains and hay. Very German signature, but pretty complex and interesting.

3fourths (9299) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 1, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2015 November 2013: Unfiltered dark brown. Amazingly strong yogurt aroma with notes of cola and autolyzed yeast. Sour, sweet, thin, acidic, weak. A dumper if there ever was one. 1.7

March 2015: Lightly hazed brown with a lasting light tan head. Nutty amaretto and chestnut and almond pastry aroma. Medium body, light sweetness, malty and oily with some coarseness, perhaps not lagered enough. Carbonation is creamy but malt is a bit rough. Decent minerality. Licorice and anise herbalness with woody touches. Much cleaner than in 2013, no unpleasant yogurt character. 3.3

1L sving-top bottle. Big platina blond head with excellent lacing. Clear mahogny colored body. Dry nutty, faint caramelly malt aroma. Notes of dusty, grassy and papery hops. Much of the same flavorwise; Dry nutty malts and dusty hops. Also an vinous berry-ish fruitiness. Light to medium full. powdery, almost chalky in th mouth. Dry fruity finish. Probably a light oxidation here, still a decent and drinkable dunkel.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown colour. Good stable creamy tan head. The flavour is slightly bready in the good way, resembles rye, but probably is not. OK mouthfeel, slightly creamy.
