Roasted barley and soy sauce nose. Watery clear brown pour, medium white head. Thin body. Roasted barley and raisins and maybe a little fig in the end. Drinkable and the flavors are there, but a rather weak attempt. Alcohol not noticeable, but then again, it’s only a 6.6% bock. Ungstrup (37284) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 15, 2009
Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, bread, caramel, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as medium notes of sweet malt and bread. The alcohol is felt on the palate, and the finish is dry. vulcanmeister (269) - La Grande, Oregon, USA - MAR 4, 2009
Pours a translucent garnet with a vigorous off-white head. The aroma promises a smoky malty sweetness that is heady. Carmel, dried plums with a long lingering malty note. Mouth feel is full bodied and satisfying. The most memorable part of this beer, to me, is it’s wonderful long lasting warm malty sweet fruit aftertaste. Danke St. Martin! (GERMAN) Pours a reddish brown color with a sm white head. Aroma is of chocolate, brown sugar, and raisins. The taste is of dark malts, chocolate, toffee, and has a slightly bitter finish. There is some nice carbonation. This bock is well balanced, and worth the effort to find.
