Marc's rating

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20

Over ripe bananas unsuccessfully try to hide behind raisins, heady winey malts and figs. Much more mild then the nose lets on. Toffee, figs, hints of earthy hops, more raisons, grape skins, and white bread. Finishes very clean with just a hint of dough.

ectuohy27 (1175) - ESTONIA - FEB 24, 2016
Quite quite good--extremely complex, layered, rich brew. Combines the caramel and toasted nuts (a tad much of the former perhaps) of a regional dark beer with the yeastiness of the Birzai style, and adding in the warming alcohol and spice of a German bock. Outstanding beer

Bottle. Colour is coppery. Aroma is very very sweet, with carmel and candy notes. In taste is too sweet and carmel.

Flaske 500ml anskaffet av djoeye og delt med ham og Rune på pauserommet 27 Aug 14. Mørk rødbrun. Høyt pent skum med litt farge. Svak bæraroma. Smaken er søte plommer & bringebær. God balanse. Alkoholen godt kamuflert.

Rune (12753) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2014
500ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye. Dissipating bubbly off-white head, spotty lacing. Clear copper coloured body. Smell of nuts, dried fruits and berries. Taste of berries, brown malts and bread. Sweet dried fruity ending with a punch of alcohol. Medium bodied. Satisfying (session at Bokhuset, Tromsø 10.09.2014).

The head is stable, the body dark red-brown. It smells, sweet, alcoholic, dry, bit plum. The taste is mild alcoholic, dry, a bit plum. Ok, not that strong like it seems to be. 11/10/10/9/12/9

boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 6, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium sized tan head, decent lacing. The aroma is sweet rye, caramel, brown sugar, plum, fig. The taste is sweet fig, raisin, brown sugar. A really light quad nearly. Very Good.

50 cl bottle @ HBF’13. BBE 31.07.2013.
Pours dark red-copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma of fusel, biscuits, bready malts, yeast and hints of spices. Flavor of bread malts, caramel, dark dried fruits, toffee and yeast, some spices also. Dry malty palate.

50 cl bottle (7,5%) @ HeBF’13, BBE 31.07.2013
Aroma has fusel‐like alcohol, some malty notes and plastic glue. Flavour is sweetish with pear esthers, plastic glue, some grain and malt. Also hints of cocoa. Sticky palate. More like malt liquor than doppelbock.

lusikka (7813) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 13, 2013
500 ml bottle @ HeBF. Pours a dark copper amber colour with a thick head. Aroma of strong fusel, sweet alcohol and bread. Flavour of caramel, strong alcohol, berries, grass and salt. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and a warming malty finish. Boring.
