Refreshing and smooth. Sunrise ale also starts with a soft subtle entry. It uses high quality German hop and barley, and soft water from Kawaba village.

ajnepple (6468) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 7, 2017
330 ml bottle into glass at Ahi Ahi in Foothill Ranch, CA. Reddish amber appearance with a fully dissipating beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee and light hops. Similar flavor, adding mild to moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Light to medium body. A pretty simple Amber Ale overall.

tightslice (1280) - Redwood City, California, USA - MAY 7, 2017
Bottle from Total Wine in Mountain View, CA. Aroma is earthy, musty grains, malts, sorghum. Taste is earthy malts, sweet chalky grains, a little nutty. Lots of dirty earthy malts.

Bottle in LA. Pleasant, easy drinking ale with fruity yeast esters and some hops coming through.

jinroh (1533) - ESTONIA - AUG 2, 2015
From tap at Setagaya Summer Festival 2015. Poured into a paper cup - with a massive head that just refuses to settle down. Finally I get through the foam and see some hazy amber colour. Aroma is mostly soap water, also some malts but not much else. Taste is bitterish, bit of fruits, somewhat messy but still drinkable. I guess this is your average Japanese ji-biiru nothing more, nothing less.

BeErikS (40) - TAIWAN - MAY 3, 2015
Poured from a bottle (or three) in Hong Kong. Pours a nice amber with moderate head, retention, and lacing. Light biscuit aroma, not much hops on the nose. Very dry with bread and biscuit overtones and a light crisp bitter finish. A light crisp ale that I might have guessed to be a craft lager. A pleasant but not particularly special or memorable beer, but if you're drinking ale at sunrise this might just hit the spot.

ikigai (75) - California, USA - APR 30, 2015
4/30/15 12 oz bottle. Darker Amber color with small head. Very little aroma or taste to it. Slight carmel malt flavor but very watery and light. Not gonna buy this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Japanese Brewery 148. Bottle from World Beer Market as Kawaba Red Ale served in a pint glass. It pours a nice amber brown with a light beige head. My first whiff gave me fruity notes while a deeper inhalation brought forth caramel and figs. Med-thin bodied with a tongue scraping mouthfeel. The taste is caramel & candied figs but it finishes on a harsh medicinal bitterness. Shame as the nose was quite promising.

trapped (3097) - New York, TURKEY - APR 8, 2015
Bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark amber with small foamy off-white head, faint caramel aroma, high carbonation, thin body, watery caramel taste, abrupt finish. Feels quite weak.
