Pours dark brown not that foamy. Aroma just kicks back you with Christmas spices. Dominated with cloves, bit of ginger and some other medicinal herbs. Body is actually not so sweet as I would have expected, maybe even balanced with all this herbal bitterness. Really feels as if they don’t actually need hops, enough harsh bitterness is coming from the herbs. Finish lighter, some toffee maybe but still, very unusual, confusing porter. Tap at Komachi. Very slow service at Komachi today. Deep mahogany brown in color with a beige head. Coriander galore! Is this a Christmas beer? One dimensional dark beer full of spice and nothing else.

Draught at Gremlin. New batch. Really intensely spiced, quite a clove bomb, reminds me of sleeping time chamomile tea, clearly covers the apparently decent chocolatey porter base, not too boozy. Kind of struggled through half a pint... KyotoLefty (10683) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 6, 2016
Bottle from the brewery. Nose is clove, chocolate, more cloves, spiced brownies, cinnamon. Pretty black with orange tints and lace. Huge spice flavor, chocolate, orange, like a festive Christmas beer. Very tasty and again I like the choice of spices very much but they are overdone.
