4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at The Lark. As I approached the bar at The Lark last night, a friend welcomed me and suggested that I try something new on tap. The dark brown ale looked to be very dense and the slight aroma of roasted malts came forward. It was probably too cold at the time to illicit anything more than the malts for my nose to enjoy, but I went ahead with the first taste to see what it was like. I found the delicious milk stout to be similar to one of my favorites from Colorado and when it warmed up a little, the subtle chocolates and chalky cocoa elements surfaced. As the slight lacing descended in the glass, I knew my friend’s suggestion had been perfect starter for my beer group’s meeting that evening and to share with other friends who would soon darken the door.
12oz Flasche. Schwarzes glänzendes Bier mit weinrotem Schimmer. Hellbeiger feiner Schaum. Röstkaffe Duft. Im Geschmack Röstmalz und reduziertes Kaffearoma. Etwas Mocka im Abgang. beastiefan2k (4068) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - OCT 14, 2016
Batch 067 16. Black beer with big head, very large and sticky lacing. Aroma is very fumy, roasty, and rich. There is an espresso bean chocolate aspect. It’s rich without being over the top. Flavor is lighter and more down to earth. A light acidity with an earthy light coffee, a light lactose sweetness. Easy drinking despite all the elements. Lighter body for the aroma. Pours and looks lifeless black. Smells awesome.. lmocha, coffee.. Taste strong of coffee, a bit bitter... smooth. Jayb0 (1215) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - JUN 17, 2016
Very good, the coffee is well balanced and tasty. This nicely fills out the also good but slightly thin Mother’s Milk. Cybercat (6017) - Georgia, USA - MAR 20, 2016
Pours nearly opaque coffee with a light tan head. Aroma delivers peppery, roast malt and molasses tones. Flavor echoes the aroma, peppery but not fiercely so - I’ve had beers that could turn your mouth into a set from "The Towering Inferno," but this ain’t one of them. Roast malt, molasses and chocolate round out the pleasing flavor. Body presents good firmness and fizz. Got milk?

Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Flavor of black coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, vanilla and had some smokiness with a dry & roasty finish. AskForJenny (1086) - Ontario, New York, USA - OCT 8, 2015
12 oz gift from Stacy - Nice two stroke color, cocoa lace, many layers on the palate. However, stout it is not. demannu (451) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 19, 2015
Great aroma of dark roasty coffee and sweetened cream. Dark pour with tan head that leaves s nice film. mild lacing. Smooth mouth feel. A bit lighter than expected but still satisfying medium/light body. Very nice flavor. Milk assists and roasted coffee. Nicely done. I’m a fan. jrodooo5 (1705) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - SEP 10, 2015
Beautiful & delicious but imperial? Deep dark pour w/ a tan head & pretty ring of lading. The aroma is coffee w/ just a hint of sweetness. The flavor is roasted coffee but finishes a touch watery & slightly clean. It’s rather drinkable but doesn’t have the chewy body that an imperial needs. Still tasty tho & overall quite good!
