Tap at Alewife: Deep golden pour with a firm white head. The aroma is rich- doughy malts, soft smoke, spicy Euro hops, very subtle DMS. Nice silky body- medium and firm. Solid malt base- doughy, spicy, with a dry crackery pils like base. Has a nice earthy smokiness. The smokiness is dry, not like a peaty smoke. Has a solid hop presence as well- seems like some American and Euro hops. Dries out in the spicy and softly smoky finish.
In short: A very clean and moderately smoky blonde lager. Enjoyable session beer.blipp (9172) - La Mesa, California, USA - JUL 2, 2013
How: Tap at Tap-NY festival 2013.
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a long-lasting small white head.
In long: Nose is has a nice larger smoke character, medium clean smoke with fresh cereals piercing through. In mouth the beer feels clean and slightly chewy with just enough soft bubbles. Pleasant cereals expressing freshness, almost no sweetness sensation, medium clean smoke, discreet but effective herbal hops. An overall clean sensation. This ain’t no Schlenkerla, if you’re looking for intensity look elsewhere, this is a toned down smoked lager, very clean, straightforward and highly sessionnable. Enjoyable offering. I’ve received drunk beermails from dickinsonbeer that look a bit like this beer name.
Draft (from old notes). Pours orange with an off white head. Grains, medium smoked malts, light sweet toffee notes, and toasted grains. Not bad. malrubius (2863) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Growler from Garden City. Pale copper with nice head and lace. Mild smoke cracker grass and slight soap aroma. Crackery malts smoke ash and very subdued honey sweetness. Fairly smoky crackery finish. Really fucking excellent. If this came in reasonably priced sixpacks, I’d drink it every day. Bra-fucking-vo. Another excellent micro rauchbier. Jow (3899) - New York, USA - OCT 30, 2012

The aroma is smoke up front, caramel, vegetables. The appearance is deep gold/amber, white head. The flavor is smoke, caramel, bread, lighter on the cooked vegetables. The finish is smoke, pine needles. Not bad. The smoke doesn’t overpower, and this is a nic variation on a familiar style. jredmond (8206) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 18, 2012
Draft at barcade with blipp, max, Andy, zack and pearl. Pours a golden yellow body with no head. Aroma is super unique - fresh roasted veggies, smoked wood, salted salad. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of smoked meat, vegetables and light band-aids. Very unique. j12601 (11135) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - OCT 8, 2012
On tap at Keegan. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Soft smoke on the nose, light caramel. Medium bodied, nice touches of smoke right away. Caramel and grain, lager notes, soft and sweet with toast and a long grainy bitterness. A small warming amount of alcohol comes through. Easy drinking, nice overall, a touch fruity on the finish.
