Lore (2820) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 1, 2017
almost cleardark brown to mahogany colour, half inch dense beige-ish head; aroma of dried plum and cherry, raisins soaked in liqueur, walnut cake, some cognac and licorice notes; taste has the same notes with quite well balance of bitterness and sweetness, as well as spicy alcohol; I like it, though it is definitely not among the best quadrupels I’ve tasted so far

Bottle (from etre gourmet). Pours dark copper with tan head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is sweet, fruits, malt, nuts. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, fruits, waffles, malt, sugar, cocoa. Finish is sweet, slight rubber, and some alcohol warmth. Overall: very good sipper

PotjeBier (3505) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 17, 2017
Tap @ Arendsnest, sample size glass. Clear deep dark red-brown color. Dense light beige head. Aroma’s: sweet fruit, sugar water. Retronasal it’s sweet, (brown) sugar, red fruit. Flavor is above moderate sweet. Medium bodied. Short finish. Kind of disappointing, but maybe I’ve just had my share of quads.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAY 14, 2017
Dark brown and interesting yellow head. Woody, roasted, building wood. Not very sweet actually, quite balanced with all those special malts and walnut. Good and very original brew. Only somehow it leaves me wanting for a strong porter instead... (33cl bottle from Être Gourmet)

Bottled. 33cl sample. The aroma has caramel, nuts, dried fruit, hint of earthy yeast tones. Dark brown coloured beer with a medium sized off-white head. The taste is light bitter and moderate sweet and has caramel, nuts, spice, bit dried fruit. Full bodied beer. Okay.

Van ’t vat. Donkerbruin met rode gloed en crème kleurig schuim. Geur: alcoholisch, moutzoetig, wat toffee. Smaak: licht zoet, sinaasappel, orangettes, zoethout, gistkarakter. Volmondig. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: alcohol verwarmend, bitter - zoet. Lekker.

androman (2635) - Maarssen, NETHERLANDS - APR 15, 2017
33cl bottle at home from De Caigny, Belgium. Nose is dried fruits, cognac. Body is clear reddish dark brown, head is small, beige, frothy, fully diminishing, no lacing. Aroma is dried fruits, wood, herbs, caramel, licorice, leaves. Medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter, light fruity sour. Finish is medium lasting roasty fruity medium bittersweet, medium alcohol warmth. Full body, oily sticky texture, soft carbonation. Quite heavy, strong flavor, interesting bit too sweet for me but as a quadruple it’s well balanced, nice one.

minutemat (5787) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2017
330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep hazy dark brown, timid tan head. Aroma is vibrant sweet quad yeast. Taste wonderfully sweet with good nutty shavings. Brown sugar and caramel-esque yeast lend a warming presence. Ace.
