Awfully good barley wine with overwhelming aroma and barrel-aged taste! Hardly believed this was Kees, but the brewery is beginning to surprise me positively more and more. Me and Kees are going to be good friends.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2018 Piana nieduża, szybko opada do firanki. Barwa ciemno miedziana, opalizująca z pływającymi farfoclami. W aromacie dość intensywne nuty słodowo beczkowe - karmel, melasa, wanilina, kokos i delikatne brandy. Smak równie przyjemny - jest słodko, jest karmelowo, rodzynkowo, daktylowo, jest sporo wanilii, trochę kokosa, przypraw, a na finiszu umiarkowane rozgrzewanie od brandy. Goryczka nieduża, pikantna, wysycenie niskie do średniego, oleiste i wyklejające w odbiorze.
Ogólnie bardzo udany trunek, choć po ogrzaniu w posmakach pojawia się niewielka marmoladowa kwaskowatość i bardziej wychodzą procenty, co burzy ogólny bukiet i pierwsze, mega pozytywne wrażenie.
Ps.

December 2017 - Tasting at One Canada Square. Bottle shared with big thanks to Mr Froge for this oen. As 'Kees Barrel Project 17.05'. Dark brown with an orange hue, almost opaque, minimal head forming. Aroma is bourbon biscuit, meaty, vanilla, barrel. Has that classic meaty bourbon barrel aroma that doesn't sit well with me. Body is smooth and oily, rich with soft carbonation. Taste is big, lots of creamy vanilla fudge, toffee, vanilla, again a bit 'meaty' but mostly fudge and bourbon. Really big flavour and body - if it delivered elsewhere it'd be a great one. (6-3-9-5-16=3.9)

33cl Bottle, thanks Harmen! Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, molasses, raisins, figs, brown sugar, oak, cognac. Flavour is sweet, malty, fruity, cognac/brandy, caramel, raisins, molasses, hint of chocolate, bittersweet finish. Medium bodied, soft mouthfeel. Lacked a bit of body imho and some depth, still quite nice though.
