From a 330ml bottle on 25/5/2017. Pours near balck with a small tan head. Has a really strong, lovely hot choclate/cocoa aroma. It begins super sweer, with masses of milk chocolate, caramel and fudge, with strong cocoa and vanilla notes. The sweetness is met by a really strong roasty, almost charred bitterness, which lingers long. This is a very full on, intense experience. Has great length and complexity - my only know is that it could be a touch smoother. Youre not that surprised that its 11.5%. The texture is creamy, the carbonation soft. Very good indeed.

330ml bottle BB Dec 2018. Inky black with beautiful creamy mocha head. Big rich chocolate aromas, caramel, vanilla, a little nuttiness. Wow, what a whack of flavour - big sweet dark chocolate, caramel, some licorice, creamy vanilla, then some espresso notes and a nice roasty and earthy bitterness that seems to last forever. Slick mouthfeel, chewy, decadent. Really well balanced, certainly not a novelty, excellent.

Deep dark robe. Nose of chocolate and milk mostly, a bit of caramel. Big attack. Body of coffee milk with a chocolate finish that stays there, quite bitter. A bit too sugary but not to the point of sickening. Liquorous feedback after some time.

330ml bottle pours almost black with slow forming thick tan head. Exactly as the label describes. Strong aromas of caramel, dark cocoa and toffee. Flavours of dark chocolate, caramel malt, cherry, coconut, coffee, salt and nuttiness. Plenty of depth and richness here. Long finish with a little espresso bitterness.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 12/2018.

330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 12/18 Thick pitch black beer with a orange-tan creamy forming atop and holding on. Big aroma - chocolate, rich caramel, touch of espresso, some orangey-citrus-tropical fruit hop filters through too. Palate starts rich, thick, warms up with booze, lots of structure & slickness - tremendous length! Starts sweet - thick brown caramel, bitter-sweet chocolate, fresh espresso, definitely a fudge-ness in there (honeycomb?), that citrus & melon fruit hop character filters through BOOM BIG bitterness, boozy warmth is welcoming, very long finish, delicious. Yum - far more than a gimmicky one trick pony this one!

On tap. Colour...jet black with a thin tan head. Nose...fudge of course as well as burnt marshmallow, molasses and dark caramels. Palate...very sweet to start then sharply bitter with huge bittersweet chocolate. The mid palate stays dry and semisweet with Tootsie Rolls, Milky Way Midnight and creamy chocolate ganache. The finish is long and fudgy.
