Toch vooral een chocolade & koffie smaak in deze. De aardbeien zitten vooral in de geur. Speciaal bier, nu niet om dagelijks te drinken, maar fijn om geproefd te hebben.

Tastes initially of artificial strawberry, cotton candy, milk chocolate, caramel malt and herbal characters. Quickly transitions to bitter herbal finish. Decent body for 6% alc vol, in fact it tastes heavier. The overall flavour is artificial and requires balancing and refinement. Aftertaste is a little sharp and unpleasant.

19/VII/17 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: XII/2018 (2017-1049)

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige irregular head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: yuck, this is really bad, this smells like some antibiotic syrup or something similar from my youth, a really artificial and bad smell which I guess has to come from the strawberries... MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty roasted, bit sweet, some strawberry candy, pretty unpleasant, syrupy, some chocolate notes. Aftertaste: roasted, little bitter, strawberry flavoured frutella candy (I guess, it’s been ages since I ate that stuff), syrupy, really bad and weird. Very surprised at the high scores this beer gets...

In the nose and the first seconds of the drink very sweet, chemical strawberries. Then the taste turns 180 degrees to schocolate bitter, creamy. Didn’t like the chemical sweetness and the fact that it didn’t drink smooth.

Well this is a first! Strawberry Stout! Interesting to say the least, aroma is full of strawberry and chocolate with the flavour to match, poured black with a lively head, full bodied creamy mouthfeel, sweet.

Mooie balans. Lichte carbonatie. Prima bier met een twist.

330ml bottle BB Jan 2019. Dark and opaque with beautiful frothy tan head that persists. Inviting aromas of strawberries & cream, chocolate and some other tropical fruity notes. The taste has definite strawberry and cream notes, although less dominant than in the aroma, chocolate, some citrus as well. Initially sweet, medium to full bodied, firm (and a little harsh) bitterness. Some really great flavours in there but would’ve benefited from a smoother bitterness to support, really impressed with the strawberry.

Bouteille 33. Peacefull Dutch !

4oz pour at Rustico Ballston. Poured a dark cola color with a small off-white head. Aroma was strawberries. Lot of strawberries. Strawberry chocolate black forest cake. Flavor is about the same. Ripe strawberries. Strawberry ice cream. Wow.

4 oz pour on draft at Rustico Ballston. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of strawberry cream, artificially flavored strawberry ice cream, dark chocolate, light caramel. Tastes of dark chocolate, strawberry cream, artificially flavored strawberry ice cream, slightly bitter roast. Medium body with a dry finish. Strawberry aroma/flavor seems more artificial than natural.
