330 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany/brown with light persistent head. Aromas of sweet caramel, sticky dark fruit, and doughy malts. Flavors are dark fruit with definite figs, dry toasted malts, bread crusts and rye. Dry, sharp and somewhat hot, contradicting the nose. Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham, consumed at Scott and Mandy’s, Dumbleton, Glos and Worcs border, Saturday 13th May 2017 Pours dark brown with a little beige head. Fruity but more of the sticky dried variety so think figs, dates (especially dates) that sort of thing but backed up with a big caramel laden body, there is a little sweet orange also. Lovely barley wine. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0 Christos (5694) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAY 8, 2017

Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Cola brown, translucent with a quickly dissipating head. Salted caramel and toffee with a light vegetal note on the aroma. Some chestnuts and some naked booze... yes, this is a big beer all righty. Taste is sweet and there’s a slight hint of cooked vegetables, chilli, hazelnut spread. Nice full body with a long sweet alcoholic finish. I like it but I’m not 100% on board. It’s got some flavours that jar. All in all however there’s no denying it’s a good beer. Troeble cola kleur met een mooie fijne kraag. Ruikt vol, vanille, créme, alcohol. Zachte volle geur. Smaakt vol vanille, chocolade, zacht, alcohol. Tikkeltje bitter in deafdronk. 90 (419) - BELGIUM - APR 17, 2017
Moutig en koppig. Iets te veel hop voor een barleywine naar mijn smaak. Net iets te robuust in zijn genre. Té ’ale’. Maarten1993 (1230) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - APR 16, 2017
Drank with Patrick @Piet Huisman 15-4-2017. Soft beer, some vanilla seems to be there. A bit neutral start but continues with sweetness. Nice body. jamestulloch (4063) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 11, 2017
