Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Cola brown, translucent with a quickly dissipating head. Salted caramel and toffee with a light vegetal note on the aroma. Some chestnuts and some naked booze... yes, this is a big beer all righty. Taste is sweet and theres a slight hint of cooked vegetables, chilli, hazelnut spread. Nice full body with a long sweet alcoholic finish. I like it but Im not 100% on board. Its got some flavours that jar. All in all however theres no denying its a good beer.

Troeble cola kleur met een mooie fijne kraag. Ruikt vol, vanille, crme, alcohol. Zachte volle geur. Smaakt vol vanille, chocolade, zacht, alcohol. Tikkeltje bitter in deafdronk.

Moutig en koppig. Iets te veel hop voor een barleywine naar mijn smaak. Net iets te robuust in zijn genre. T ale.

Drank with Patrick @Piet Huisman 15-4-2017. Soft beer, some vanilla seems to be there. A bit neutral start but continues with sweetness. Nice body.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Hazy ruby body with a medium beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of cinnamon, strawberry syrup, glue, fig and honey. Flavour of tangy orange peel with a warming boozy finish. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Bold and boozy. A true sipper.

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, chocolate, molasses, bread and roasted malts.

Appearance:
Opaque dark brown/black beer with a slight beige head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, chocolate and molasses; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread and roasted malts.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Loads of malts and they bring every aspect of them with it. Great malts, caramel, bread and roasty flavours. The aroma could have been stronger however.

Bottle, pours brown with a beige head. Quite sweet caramel/sugary aroma, which is balanced by bitterness in the taste. Caramel, chocolate, raisins, dried apricot, nuts, somewhat earthy, spicy, some vinous notes. Quite boozy, medium body, fairly dry finish. Nice and warming.
