Tap at Arendsnest. Served very cold. Very hazy reddish dark amber with offwhite head. Massive sherry, rich grape fruitiness, wood, light red fruit, red apples, bit plasticcy/gluey, barley malts and booziness. Moderate sweet and bitter. Over medium body and light fizz carbonation.

Clear ruby red beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, some vanilla, dried fruits, sugary, nice! MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, pretty hoppy, bitter, dry, some alcohol, hint of vanilla, dried fruits. Aftertaste: bitter, hoppy, bit resinous, metallic touch.

@ ACBF 2017. Licht plakkerige afdronk. Wel lekker maar geen top barley-wine.

ACBF 2017. Thank you for sharing kraddel, tderoeck, Travlr & friends. Sampled draft. Red deep amber cough syrup appearance, little head. Nose is cough syrup, metallic, herbal, stale kitchen spices. aste is the same cough syrup, almost medicinal, kitchen spices, bitter, boozy, very herbal, bay leaf. Body is thick cough syrup herbal malts. Another cough syrup heavy brew by Kees in this style. Aptly made but not really my thing.

Draught Almost no head; clear copper-chestnut beer. Bit chemical nose, solvent, esters, faint caramel. Sweet, nutty, caramel, sweet brandy or Cointreau, incense. Chemical remains totally in the nose, not even traceable retronasal. Quite slick to viscous, alcoholburn. Very good in taste. The sherry has no doubt given complexity, but is in itself not identifiable. Note: the chemical - probably chlorine - might be due to the rincing water from the glass
