Pours very clean dark gold with frothy white head. Moderate head retention, good lacing. Malty, strong DMS, herbal nose. Medium body, high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is malty, sweet, citrusy. Some bitter finish.
Bottle in Bamberg. Pours a beautiful golden color with white head. Aroma is holy with grass and grain notes. Taste has a nice malt profile with bitter grassy and citrus finish. One of the better pils I have ever had! Gangstergafje (1229) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - NOV 5, 2016
The beer has a simple pilsener appearance. The beer has a bit pale yellow color. The beer is clear, with a tiny cloudiness. A lot of bubbles can be seen rising towards the top. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft, white foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses over time, leaving a nice soft drape. The smell of the beer is nice. It’s quite aromatic for a pilsener. I smell some delicious strong sweet malty aromas and a lovely bitterness of hops. The smell has something creamy and rich. It smells amazing. There are also some sweet fruity tones. I can’t clearly put my finger on it. The taste is also quite nice. There is that same creamy aspect and also the sweet fruits. It reminds me a bit of strawberry. There is also a nice malty sweetness and a hoppy bitterness, all in good balance. The beer has a nice strong gassy kick, perfect for this beer type. Nice above average pilsener. August 2016 - Keg at GBBF 2016. Many thanks to Fergus and Sarah for the share. Dark yellow, still, clear, foamy white head. Aroma is biscuity, malty, sugary, musty, lager malt. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is biscuity malt, grassy, smooth musty malts, semisweet with a balancing bitterness. Gassy on the stomach. It’s a decent lager and I could definitely drink a lot of it - but it’s a bit washed out by carbonation. Glad to try it, but it hasn’t swooned me the way it has others unfortunately. The fizz is always going to be a sticking point for me. (2.7) jackl (8297) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 16, 2016
Keg @ GBBF 2014. Brilliant gold pour with a white head. Nose is moderately syrupy. Some honeyed grain. Light grass. Nice creamy malt profile. Honeycomb. Wax. Nice and crisp. Deftly hoppy. Vibrant and easy drinking. Pillowy carb. Lovely.
