Aroma slightly strong for the style, like a citrusy, grassy floral hop smell. Appearance like a regular pilsner, slightly more transparent and cloudy perhaps like a helles, Taste is surprisingly hoppy and citrusy, a little more bitter than most pils and a light body makes it so easy to drink. Excellent pilsner. One bottle goes so quickly!

Bottle at home. Aroma is crisp grassy hops, hay, grainy malt, light citrus, a tad floral. Flavour is light to moderate bitter. Body is light to medium. Exquisite Pilsener, nicely grassy hoppy and crisp, I wish this was the standard for the style.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2016 [email protected] Pours light golden with medium white head. Aroma is hoppy with grass, straw and some pine and citrus, but yet light malty. Taste is bitter, with straw, grass and light malts. Very good german pils.

On tap at ’In de Wildeman’. Clear, straw yellow with a thin, dense, white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity-grassy and a bit herbal-spicy aroma of fresh grass, some citrus and sweet malts. Sweetish, fruity-grassy, slightly herbal-spicy taste of some honey, fresh grass, citrus and some vanilla, followed by a short, slightly bitter, grassy-spicy finish. Thin to medium body, smooth mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Nice!

Clear golden. Very clean and fresh texture. Taste is well balanced between mild sweetness and a lightly bitter finish.

There are days when I think this might be the best pils in Germany. I haven’t drunk *every* pils in Germany, not even close. But I’ve had many. And I’ve had this one many times. Firmly bitter with a honeyed backbone but enough spicy-herbal hop flavor and aroma that it’s nearly juicy. Always very good, and often enough transcendent.
