.5L swing-top bottle. Clear, darker golden colour. Good carbonation leading to a medium head, but no lacing. Nothing oustanding in the taste, just an average flavour.

pivnizub (10762) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 3, 2006
Bügelverschlußflasche: Light amber coloured, slightly hazy, stable off-white head; honey, sweet-malt and a tinge of toasted malt in the nose; mild sweetish and very light bitter flavour, light bodied, but a bit sticky; mild, sweetish-malty finish. A rather bland and boring stuff......

MoritzF (10068) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - SEP 3, 2006
(swing top bottle) Slightly hazy orange to amber coloured hue with a minimal off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet and dusty malty aroma with faint traces of honeyish fruitiness and resiny hops. Light-sweet flavour, medium to light body, smooth carbonation; slightly papery malt character with a touch of honey and perfumed hops. Very light bitter, papery malty finish. Rather disappointing.

Bottle (500ml best before 06.01.07). Thanks to my friend Austin for bringing this back from Germany in his luggage. Clear amber-gold with a solid foamy-fizzy white head. Sweet aroma, sweet cereal grain, grape, perfumy hops, buckwheat honey - seems a bit sweet for a dunkel, but I find it very appealing. It’s like nectar! - sweet, floral, perfumy and a solid undercurrent of light but insistent perfumy/floral hops. Sticky, sryupy mouthfeel, virtually no carbonation, quite a sweet finish, but it’s a quick finish, no aftertaste - I’m pretty sure this isn’t really anything like a dunkel - seems more like a mead to be honest - but nice.

Bottle. Golden colour with a medium white head. Light sweet malty, hoppy aroma and a sweet malty, straw, hoppy taste. Medium body with a light sweet finish.

Nice amber color with small fizzy, white head. Hops aroma and somewhat sweet malt flavor. Clean finish. Little-to-no aftertaste. Doesn’t weigh heavy ior fill you up. Not a dunkle, not a pils, not a weizen. But a nice spot in the middle.

antibeersnob (29) - Maryland, USA - APR 22, 2005
My first dunkle and it fits the description nicely. Pours great...color, carb, and head all good. Nice aroma. Friend of mine brought it over from Germany...I wish I could get it here...It would be my summer regular brew!

shrubber85 (11570) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - NOV 29, 2004
Bottle. Sour malt and flowery hops aroma. Tan color with decent head. Slightly sweet malt flavor with slight hops finish. High carbonated.

changxao (104) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 6, 2004
Good head, with a nice amber color (appears to be unfiltered) also leaves nice lacing. Malty and somewhat hoppy aroma (balanced). Good malt flavor, medium-full body, with a nice, clean, and slightly hopped finish. Overall one of the better beers I’ve had to date.

Bronstein (175) - Göttingen, GERMANY - JAN 17, 2003
Amber color. Acceptable head. Malt flavoured medium body. Hopbitter finish. Malt and bitter aftertaste.
