A delicious German wheat beer with a difference. It comes from Scotland. And it’s cloudy thanks to billions of naturally occurring yeast cells. Oh and it tastes of bannanas. Which is what counting a billion yeast cells can drive you to.

£1.35 bottle from Bargain B, Annan. Dull gold, almost kristall. Brave take but it's almost impossible to master unless German; splashes of bubblegum yeast and banana but undermined by ashy yeast. Nose unripe banana, shrubbery, orange jelly. It's OK.

Cask conditioned from Stillage at The Inn on the Green, Acocks Green, Birmingham. Clouded yellow straw with white head. There is a heavy aroma and flavour of banana and pear drops with this beer, heavyish on the palate, yeasty then a citrus hint. It's okay for the style.

330ml bottle from the Scottish real ale shop, Kilmahog. Was 5 weeks out of date and reduced so might affect rating, but it was cheap ! 330ml bottle pours a hazy golden amber with a fluffy white head. Nose is wheat, banana, clove, zesty citrus, faint coriander. Nicely carbonated and light in the mouth. Taste is like a German Hefe-Weize but also has vibes of a saison. Anyway thought this was pretty refreshing and tasty.

Bottle form Dobbies Garden Centre, Ponteland, Newcastle. Bright pale golden coloured with a thin white head. It has a malty, toffee and slight smoked beechwood flavour followed by gentle vanilla, banana and more beechwood on the finish. Good, but more of a gentle Rauchbier perhaps?

Bottle @cgarvieuk, The Keith Tasting, April 2nd. [Rating Backlog] Pours golden, slight white head. Nose is quite bland, but some hay and lemon, nothing bad. taste is banana, cloves, lemon and a buttery finish.

From bottle. Nose of yeast, citrus, orange zest. Taste is light malts and full bodied, very long finish.

Bottle thanks to brewer. Appearance - golden with a decent head. It disappears fast. Nose - lemon and malt. Taste - more of the same. A bit like a Kolsch but some banana coming through. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it is a decent beer but not necessarily as creamy as I’d hoped for from the style.

Bottle at Craig’s, thanks to Keith’s only homer – BenH. It pours clear pissy gold with a medium white head. The nose is rather mellow, white bread, cracker, cereal and dull sweet banana. The taste is soft, mellow banana, straw, wheaten bread, hay, apple and soft fruits with a smooth finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Can’t say filtered wheat beer is my favourite style, but there is nothing wrong with this juan. Okay.

Bottle. Clear golden with white head. Aroma of cereal, earth, lemon. Taste is earthy, lemon, banana. Dry and a bit thin. Had worse
