Cask (handpump) at the Monks Retreat , Reading on 27 April 2011. Reddish amber colour. Dry malt and moderately bitter hops dominate. Slight citric tang. Clean, quite firm mouthfeel. Nothing particularly remarkable here but it’s pretty solid, good drinking drop.

On cask at London Inn, Torquay. A good flavoursome red ale which would make a good session ale.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Light brown pour with a light film. Mild malt aroma, hints of caramel. Not too nice flavor, notes of dried fruits and nuts, as well as leather. Light bodied with fine carbonation. A little bland. Finishes faintly sweet with hints of nuts and leafy hops. Not bad, but pretty average. JohnRMurdoch (4871) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - APR 11, 2011
