Cask (gravity dispense) at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. Noted at 5.0%. Ridiculously bright red colour - looks rather like Ribena. Must be some food colouring in use here surely? Very little aroma -certainly little fruit in evidence. Comes over as a softish, standard bitter. Gimmicky and not very interesting.

Ear BF 06. This was dissapointing, given that i have had good experiences with this brewers beer. Not much in the aroma or the flavour. Mouthfeel is quite grainy and dry, but completely empty.
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Pigs Ear BF. Clear red colour. some yeast on aroma. It’s a not very good bitter that is red. Flat, dull and boring. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2006
1. Cask Handpump at the Devonshire Cat, Sheffield 22/12/2001
I’ve noticed this beer sometimes appears without the red colouring as ’Unred Rudolph Rides Again’
Golden coloured slightly fruity cherry flavour. Powerful hop finish.
2. Cask Stillage at the Fat Cat, Sheffield 22/12/2002
Clear golden coloured and hoppy. Some dryness in the finish.

A surprise this one. Basically this is a re-release of the seasonal Red Rudolph beer (hence "Rides Again"). Held up to the light this is the brightest red beer I have seen. Flavours consist of fruity, biscuit malts. A long dry finish completes this very good Xmas ale.
