I enjoyed this beer at a great restaurant, so the delicious food only made this beer taste better. I loved it!
Smells like nothing. Expired malt balls. Blacvk color. No head.tastes of malty chocolate and nuts, not bad.n easy to drink. Noything great Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 22, 2010
Tap at the Lark. Pours a nice deep dark brown, woody almost a lighter coal black. Aroma is nutty, earthy toasty, light chocolate malts, slgiht grass, vegetable, and light roast with a slight lager yeast twang. Flavor is earthy, slight mineral, moderate chocolate malt, slight coffee bean hint, ash, crackery nutty malts, some burnt toast, yeasty. Finish is fairly dry- just a little bit mixed up and not quite refined enough, malt seemed a tad bit sharp on the edges for a lager. Ok. Jow (3995) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 5, 2010
on tap at a food & wine event. flavors of chocolate and coffee but not overpowering in any way. lighter drinking than expected but overall still nice little beer, beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - MAY 1, 2010
Growler filled at Bellport Cold Beer & SOda and consumed the next day. Pours a clear deep brown with some reddish highlights and a thin off-white head that lasted through the first two sips and left a spotty film on the glass. Pleasant aroma of lightly roasted malt and mild chocolate. The flavor is similar with perhaps a bit more roast and the same mild chocolate. Fairly smooth finish. Very drinkable.

Dark brown pour w/ red highlights. Arouma of chocolate, coffee and nuts. Smokey roasted malts, biscuity grain notes backed by some bitter. Smooth but a little thin. Not bad but nothing special. Maverick34 (3283) - New York, USA - JAN 18, 2010

Draft. Pours deep ruby brown with a thin head. Roasty malt aroma with bitter sweet chocolate. Roasty flavor with a light chocolate sweetness. Pretty good. BillN (3) - USA - DEC 19, 2009 does not count
Under $10 Growler pours are good. This one from DeCicco’s in Ardsley, NY. Pours a nice rich shade of dark maple, under a moderate medium khaki head, that does not impress retention wise but does suprise with its left behind fine, scattered and copious lace. Nose of lightly roasted malt, and the becoming more prominant as it warms chocolate glow. Easy drinking lager, with more then moderate chocolate malt tendencies. Tastes like a goey medium chocolate brownie and thats a good thing. Would likely work well with a chocolate or some other sort of dessert. Enjoyable and well crafted. Worth a try. tgncc (3136) - Bellmore, New York, USA - NOV 28, 2009
Nice aroma of chocolate, roasted coffee, cream. the flavor is strong chocolate, sweet, cream. The appearance is brown, ruby hue, tan head. The finish is a light resiny hop bittering. The mouthfeel is medium to thick, creamy, a pleasant surprise. Decent and enjoyable, better than expected.
