March 2015 500ml dark bottle, filtered, from Asda. 4%. Magik Best Bitter. Standard light amber/orange appearance. Low condition. Fairly standard session bitter. Pale malt with a touch of crystal to add flavour and interest. Powdery bittering hops lingering in the finish, gradually becoming more defined and fresh tasting (oddly). Its a decent enough session bitter. OK. [3.0]
Nov 2015 500ml dark bottle, unfiltered, from Cask and Cork, Southampton. Pleasant roasty notes in a sweet, and fairly well balanced best bitter. Slight stale note to the hops - odd, considering this appears to be an unfiltered bottle (though not a lot of sediment in the bottle). Pleasant enough, but doesnt quite rock my world. [3.0]
