Bottle a plovmand tasting, thanks. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is loads of coffee, caramel and malt with a hint of coconut. The flavour is dominated by coffee, with herbal, caramel, alcohol and coconut notes. Not really my thing.

At a tasting: sourish green coffee, pina colada mainly in the aroma, weak nutty notes, lots of roasted malts, some burnt notes, medium creamy body, dry sourish finish, real good but not great.

At a tasting, thanks YK23, pours brown to black with a medium tan head, aroma of roasted coffee, burnt coffee, wood, vanilla, intense acidity and alcohol warmth, flavor of roast, sour cherries, nuts, wood and charcoal, quite perfumy, medium to full body, real nice one.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Yuval. Black with a beige head. Aroma of coffee beans, nuts and light fruity hints. Sweet-sourish flavor of roasted malt, green coffee beans, a bit of nuts, a bit of alcohol, woody hints, herbal and fruity hints and a bit more bitterness in the finish. Strange but not bad.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2014 "its rare when a beer youve built up exceeds expectations, and since Stone is my favorite brewer, hopes were sky high for this one. not to worry, though, it did not disappoint. one of the best, if not THE best, porter that ive ever had. the aroma was incredibly rich and decadent. coffee, chocolate, roasted malt...with flavor to match and a wonderfully smooth full body. Awesome, awesome, awesome beer!"

Bottle: Dark black color with a nice tan head. The nose is roasty with a thick residual amount of coffee and fruit. Not getting as much coconut or macadamian nuts, but I love the concept and they have their place as placebo placeholders on the label anyway. Full bodied and very complex, easy to quaff and easier still to drink. I need to get me a couple more of these.

(12 oz bottle). Pours almost black with 1" tan head. Aroma of dark roasted coffee, chocolate and nuts. Dark cherries also? Taste is sweet with slight burnt dryness/bitterness following. Yummy! Medium bodied with a creamy/oily texture. Finish has some bitterness, but it is mostly a dry roasted coffee bitterness. Ive come to realize how much I like these coffee porters/stouts. This would make a good beer on a football sunday, after real coffee, and during preparation of brunch/lunch before the games.
