Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Yuval. Black with a beige head. Aroma of coffee beans, nuts and light fruity hints. Sweet-sourish flavor of roasted malt, green coffee beans, a bit of nuts, a bit of alcohol, woody hints, herbal and fruity hints and a bit more bitterness in the finish. Strange but not bad. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee and coconut aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted coffee and coconut sweet flavor with a medium to heavy oily bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.

Thanks to JaBier for sharing a bottle. The beer pour an opaque brown-black color with a thin tan head that dissipates slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, nuts and chocolate. Medium body with a roasty character and flavors of malt, coffee, dark chocolate and nuts. The finish is a sweet at first, with a moderately bitter coffee aftertaste that lingers. Overall the macadamia and coconut takes a back seat to the coffee in this brew, but it is pretty enjoyable either way. thewolf (12598) - Kolding, DENMARK - JAN 15, 2011

Pours deep brown, bordering on black. Lovely, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has lots of dry coffee, some astringency, light chocolate, some nuttiness. Only mild sweetness. Medium carbonation, very fat and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is elegant, lots of dry coffee, blackberries, mild astringency, some sweetness, perhaps from the coconut. It is very good, but very dominated by the coffee. Neither Macadamia nor coconut gets a serious way in...

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2014 "it’s rare when a beer you’ve built up exceeds expectations, and since Stone is my favorite brewer, hopes were sky high for this one. not to worry, though, it did not disappoint. one of the best, if not THE best, porter that i’ve ever had. the aroma was incredibly rich and decadent. coffee, chocolate, roasted malt...with flavor to match and a wonderfully smooth full body. Awesome, awesome, awesome beer!"
