COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first brew produced by Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co, Kentucky Ale is described as a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. With a light amber color, Kentucky Ale owes its body and character to select imported malts and a pinch of wheat malt for a rich, smooth taste. This brew is placed into bourbon barrels to make the brewerys flagship Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.

Yadda, yadda, yadda. BFD!! Slightly darker yellow than the average piss poor macro. Off beige head is pretty. So lightly hopped it doesnt matter. Roasted grains are detected, unfortunately those grains are corn and wood. Quick finish is wayyyyy too quick if you ask me. This is not horrible, yet it IS horribly mediocre.

Bottle many times. Pours a clear amber with a finger of white foam. Light toffee nose with some grain notes. Thinner than expected on the palate. Clean and easy drinking. Slightly sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark gd body with a one finger frothy off-white head. The nose is pretty light and nondescript. Just a bit of caramel malt, and a light graininess. The flavor is just as bland, some slightly sweet caramel malt, a little husky grain, some cereal notes, a hint of alcohol, zero hops. Pretty boring stuff. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a slight cling on the finish. Very boring stuff.

Light orangish amber color with a small lid of off white bubbles. A light caramel malt and citric scent. I seem to be reminded of a chocolate covered orange slice. Sweet lightly toasted malt and some herbal notes. Some grainy characteristics that I find in many ambers that I just am not a fan of. 7/11

On tap. Pours a copper color with light head that dissipates quickly. Basically a malty offering with doughy buttery flavors plus a good dose of DMS - maybe lines? Not too good.

Bue en bouteille de 33cl. Blonde orangée. Effervescence faible. Nez sur le grain. Palais classique APA sur le malt principalement. Plutôt douce. Ne laisse pas une grande impression même si elle est bien faite.

Bottled - Clear amber colour, medium white head with poor retention. Sweet malty taste with some corn and bread. Taste is also sweet with some caramel, candy, honey and grainy notes. Light body, moderate carbonation, thin mouthfeel, sweet finish. Not bad.

Poured into a Tulip glass. Nice aroma with hints of hay, oak, and hops. Amber color with a 1" head that dissipated relatively quickly. Decent lacing. First sip, Slightly sweet with a "boubon-ey" twang. Nice overall balance with a unique overall experience. Definitely worth trying. A little hard to find.

Bottle, from a convenience store by the Tokyo Dome. Mr Pearse Lyons is not only a great marketing man, but very much a visionary. Who else would dare to call his single-malt bourbon a "Single Malt Bourbon"? Considering this ale was the brewerys first product, I think theyve done a tremendous job. Nice and sweet, with a beautiful copper colour and a faint aroma of root beer, it melts in the mouth with flavours of caramel and a basket of autumn fruits in the cellar. Not too complex, it is smooth in the palate, quite velvety. Straightforward and honest. Another very decent flagship for the state of Kentucky. Well done, Alltech!
