COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentuckys finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

Bottle thanks to a coworker Lomo looking out for me: Poured a coppery clear color with a bubbly white head. Aroma is thick and sweet bourbon. Taste is sweet malt with loads of bourbon and wood.

Pours a clear copper on tap with thin off-white head that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma of sweet vanilla and slight whiskey. Taste is all vanilla, thin and too sweet for me. Meh.

Sweet, vanilla/whiskey aroma - 7 & 7, Crown and Coke, that sort of thing. OK label on a standard US longneck, clear, ruddy amber beer, not much head. Sweet, biscuity/shortbread flavors. Not very bitter at all. Frothy mouth, medium to slightly-heavy body. Finishes out with a distinct shortbread impression. Enjoyable - the bourbon is there in the aroma, but not oppressive in the flavor. This would make good marinade for pork or braising liquid for cabbage. Come to think of it, I need to make up some good German braised cabbage - its cold out. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Has a really strong flavor with a real bourbon taste. Their is very little hops but it has the quality of a imperial. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle poured to a Duvel tulip at Lunar Brewing Co., showing a bright & clear amber tone, with a decent amount of persistence to the soft white head froth, and good cling to the ribbons & spots of lacing. The aroma offered an initial, light sweetness, almost light fruitiness, with pina colata, caramel, and toffee scent to it. The flavor was similar, but fell off a good deal in intensity, with low bitterness, soft carbonation, and an almost thin, less than medium body. Easy drinking at first, but the BB characteristics were all over the place, and didnt impress. Even started to develop butterscotch hints in the nose as it warmed in the glass.

355ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a small white head that leaves no lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by caramel with hints of bourbon and vanilla. Taste is a huge caramel malty sweetness with hints of bourbon and vanilla with a mild grassy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A little too easy to drink for a barrel aged brew, needs a little more substance to it.

Whole Foods, Bowery 355ml ($4): Pours a light amber with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is whiskey, vanilla, and a bit of caramel malt. Taste is woody, with whiskey and vanilla notes. Somewhat sweet. Pretty smooth. Alcohol was well-covered. Not bad.
