COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale® is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

delicious...I love bourbon and I love beer...perfect blend...a little caramel, without being too sweet. Very drinkable...had too many, but could have had more. delicious. had it at Ginger Man in Manhattan on tap.

Great balance of flavor and crispness. Much better on tap than in bottle. I’m not a fan of the bourbon barrel stouts. To heavy and cloying. This is an ale and for me they got it right.

Thumbs down.

Definitely on the heavy side for me. Didn’t impress with nose or flavour, and was strong - without being enjoyable. Wouldn’t recommend.

tap. Amber with small head. Nice mild bourbon flavor, less harsh than many other bourbon aged beers that i’ve had. rather smooth.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate creamy head. Distinct aroma of bourbon, oak and vanilla. The mouthfeel is fairly light for its strength. Medium dry flavour, again with distinct notes of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Good beer, but demands that you like bourbon (I do). A little more hoppy bitterness would not hurt, though.

This has alot of bourbon flavor. A bit hot. Im not a fan of this but it’s because I don’t like bourbon.

Sweet smell of vanilla and a slight afterthought of the bourbon. Sipped this beer from a snifter and was pleasantly surprised at the smoothness it provided. Color was a caramel brown. Aftertaste was minimal and would recommend to anyone. This is a 1 drink only type of beer imho.

Aroma is of bourbon barrel wood and its usual attendant vanilla. Approximate appearance of heated maple syrup. Tastes a bit smokey and a lot of sweet. Cloying and sticky like a bock, only much more so. Not subtle.

WOB Coconut Creek, FL. Nice body moderately hoppy, adequately hopped, vanilla notes forward. Very drinkable, but probably not more than one at a time. Became a bit cloying by the end of the glass. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
