Has a really strong flavor with a real bourbon taste. Their is very little hops but it has the quality of a imperial.

golden orange color, aroma of bourbon, grain, bread, same flavors with some caramel, vanilla, wood, slight booze tmoreau (4420) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - DEC 11, 2012
12 oz. bottle poured to a Duvel tulip at Lunar Brewing Co., showing a bright & clear amber tone, with a decent amount of persistence to the soft white head froth, and good cling to the ribbons & spots of lacing. The aroma offered an initial, light sweetness, almost light fruitiness, with pina colata, caramel, and toffee scent to it. The flavor was similar, but fell off a good deal in intensity, with low bitterness, soft carbonation, and an almost thin, less than medium body. Easy drinking at first, but the BB characteristics were all over the place, and didn’t impress. Even started to develop butterscotch hints in the nose as it warmed in the glass. light amber in the glass. aroma of bread, caramel malt and faint bourbon. taste is a mixture of sweet malt and some slight bourbon booze. medium body, nice mouth feel. reebtogi (6310) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 8, 2012
355ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a small white head that leaves no lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by caramel with hints of bourbon and vanilla. Taste is a huge caramel malty sweetness with hints of bourbon and vanilla with a mild grassy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A little too easy to drink for a barrel aged brew, needs a little more substance to it.

Whole Foods, Bowery 355ml ($4): Pours a light amber with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is whiskey, vanilla, and a bit of caramel malt. Taste is woody, with whiskey and vanilla notes. Somewhat sweet. Pretty smooth. Alcohol was well-covered. Not bad. nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2012
The aroma is sweet and malty with caramel, oak, and most importantly bourbon. The appearance is golden with an amber hue and a thin head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall a fantastic beer to drink even if all the flavor comes from the bourbon barrels. ciaranc (1102) - Dublin, IRELAND - DEC 3, 2012
Amber pour, not much head. Viscous bourbon, wood nose. Aroma burns the nostril slighly. More bourbon in the flavour, tends to over ride any other taste. Thin bodied. More bourbon flavour in the finish. Not the most complex beer. Not great. boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - DEC 1, 2012

The best bourbon barrel beer(that's not a stout). A masterful job of imparting the flavors and smells of bourbon on an ale.
