COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale® is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

12oz bottle into snifter glass. Pours a copper color with a small white head that disappates quickly and leaves very slight lacing that slides down into the beer. Delicious aroma of vanilla, caramel, biscuits, oak, and a hint of bourbon. Taste is duller than it should be with a warm vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, and bread. Slightest hint of bourbon on the back end with a nice little alcohol burn and a slight vanilla and oak aftertaste in the finish. Palate is a bit too thin with a light body and high on carbonation. Finish is pretty quick but pronounced. Overall quite enjoyable for an ale. One of the few bourbon barrel beers that doesn’t overwhelm you with the bourbon.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear copper with thin, creamy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, strawberries, vanilla, bourbon, floral hops, and light citrus fruit. Flavor is sweet malts, vanilla, bourbon, corn, and light fruit esters; dry finish with light booze. Medium body and low carbonation.

Bottle thanks to a coworker Lomo looking out for me: Poured a coppery clear color with a bubbly white head. Aroma is thick and sweet bourbon. Taste is sweet malt with loads of bourbon and wood.

Pours a clear copper on tap with thin off-white head that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma of sweet vanilla and slight whiskey. Taste is all vanilla, thin and too sweet for me. Meh.

Sweet, vanilla/whiskey aroma - 7 & 7, Crown and Coke, that sort of thing. OK label on a standard US longneck, clear, ruddy amber beer, not much head. Sweet, biscuity/shortbread flavors. Not very bitter at all. Frothy mouth, medium to slightly-heavy body. Finishes out with a distinct shortbread impression. Enjoyable - the bourbon is there in the aroma, but not oppressive in the flavor. This would make good marinade for pork or braising liquid for cabbage. Come to think of it, I need to make up some good German braised cabbage - it’s cold out. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Pleasant taste with very distinct bourbon flavour. Good but under stated beer. Excellent finish.

Has a really strong flavor with a real bourbon taste. Their is very little hops but it has the quality of a imperial. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

golden orange color, aroma of bourbon, grain, bread, same flavors with some caramel, vanilla, wood, slight booze
